Come one, come all to January’s Big Freeze
To move onwards and upwards to move on with ease
To a new beginning to a debt free life
One of no worries, no stress and certainly no strife
So step out of last year to a brand new start
Get ready to give it your full-fledged heart
You are in charge of your own success
Do it well, hit it hard, don’t give anything less!!!

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".

I was quite certain I could get away with £60 for 2 weeks. Then I remembered my daughters monthly rail season ticket. That has added £80 to budget.

May the odds be forever in your favour! Love it!

OK. It's 7.39am on the first day of this awesome challenge and I am READY. I almost feel like I'm cheating a bit given that the shops aren't open today, haha - but staying off online shopping will be a challenge in itself.

OH's parents are taking us for a carvery today so we should get a big feed meaning tonight's tea can just be soup, that will help to use up the bottom of the fridge veg. I have meal planned for the rest of the week as well.

    So excited to get started!

ETA - just redeemed a £10 Amazon GV from Shop and Scan rewards so have added this to my Amazon account. I'm saving to buy a tablet for my son, I want to pay for it all with rewards from Shop and Scan/Swagbucks (£65 saved so far, £25 to go!). So that's £10 towards my extra £25 this month already :)

Happy new year everyone!!! Woken up this morning ready and raring to go with some money saving. Going to spend the money making our budgeting jars for the months food/fuel etc... with the children (figuring if I get them involved they might get the bug too?!?!?!!?) This month is already incredibly tight as this months wages were paid the week before xmas which in effect means tring to stretch a 4 and a half week wage over 6 weeks but thats what makes this such an ideal time to start. Listed a few bits on ebay last night but seem to have run out of stuff to sell. Had such a good clear out before xmas, I don't know what to try and sell now. The bits I have left seem to be the bits that just aren't selling. Plan to go coin hunting down sofas etc... later towards my £25. Fingers crossed. XXX
