January's Big Financial Freeze!!!

My other half has just turned round to me and said "I can't go out tonight I don't have any money" to which I quite happily replied "don't be silly we've budgeted for it. You're not drinking so you can drive as you drink the most beer i.e. cost the most. I'm taking my ciders with me and we're not going to any pubs. We'll have food before we go out and you can take some bottles of water from the fridge. If we need to spend any money on anything then we have £8 for gymnastics that isn't on tomorrow we can spend, and we can always half the pub budget for after climbing this week." He then looked really relaxed and all was good in the world again
Thanks NSK you've already started working some magic on our little lives here in Cardiff. Happy new Year everyone x

Gulp! Ok, here goes....diving in head first to my first challenge on MSE. You're a tough cookie NSK, but having watched the last couple of challenges I can see that they work so please can I join in this one?
We've no debts as such apart from a huge mortgage. We moved house earlier this year, and we used up all our savings etc to buy the house of our dreams. Our priority this year is to build up our savings again - ideally 6 mortgage payments worth.
I did really well in Sainsburys today......walking past the self serve tills I saw a "coupon slip" in the bin, and unbelievably someone had left/chucked a price match coupon for £4.70!!!!! Needless to say I used it on my shopping today, but am wondering now whether I should have saved it for using in January so it could have gone towards my £25...doh!
Thanks Kat for another fantastic challenge....could someone just advise me how to do signature information as I've never done that before?
Many thanks

Hi MinniMoo
Not sure your signature has updated with your figures? Hope you didn't spend ages doing it, like I did. just thought it would be easier to update once a week.
Really feeling inspired with the eight fold challenge and even got excited when I found 20p today then realised it was early...so I put it under the clock so I can 'find' it again tomorrow!
Happy New Year to all

Question - I have a dentists appointment on Thu 3rd Jan and I pay for my prescriptions - do I include this as a spend day?
Nope - meds don't count. Shoulda put that up at the beginning!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. I've got a load of eBay items finishing tomorrow. Even though I listed them before, can that go to the 155?
Also, where can I put my survey vouchers? Or am I being cheeky
EBay can count towards January... since it ends in January. Survey vouchers towards you £25 extra.. or did I miss understand the question... Hope thats ok though..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
