You may have genuinely forgotten, however you were deliberately trying to find a way out of not paying, you knew you owed the money yet you were still looking for loopholes to get out of paying, says a lot for your character.

While I may believe you forgot to pay within the 7 days, you were genuinely looking for a way to get out of paying it at all and thats why you came here.

Had you asked for a way to get off paying the extra £30 the debt collectors wanted (while still paying the £70 you owed), I don't think anyone would of been fussed and you may well have got different advice.

FYI, yes we do have a nice little community. We just don't like dishonest people who think they can join up, use us to get a loophole and then vanish never to be heard from again. That was clearly your intention wasn't it. You don't give a damn about helping anyone else out here on this forum, you just wanted to use the people here for your own gain and nothing else.

Not quite right actually. If the garage took the drivers details then it becomes a civil issue - eg a debt. It still doesn't make it right that the op wanted to avoid paying it though.

It wasn't the forgetting to pay which was the problem but the way you seemed determined to worm your way out of paying.

It really does make you wonder when someone who comes on the site and posts about how he can avoid paying for something that any right minded person would not think twice about, and then complains when they get splattered. They must suffer from cerebral masochism.

It is a nice community and we don't want it polluted by dishonest people.
