Awhh, Frogga, really feel for you. But look at you having lost 7 st. Wow :T please keep going.

I'm anxious I'm not going to show a loss for my 2nd WI tomorrow morning. And then I'll blame it all on my weakness last Friday night :o

I had to go to bed at 8.30 last night because my wife was in such a strop that I wouldn't drink any wine. She wouldn't drink any because I wasn't. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife. :(

I've got a load of super free veg in the slow cooker, added some beans - and that will be my main meal today. I've told my wife that this is what I am having and that she can have what she likes.

But, as usual, she has said she will have the same :(

Arrghhhh, it's going to be another one of those nights

    What a nightmare.

Do you have any idea why your Wife might be trying to hold you back? Is she a healthy weight or is she also overweight?

Well done for standing your ground and making the right choice for you. Sometimes it's hard to do anyway but even harder if you have that little devil on your shoulder egging you on.

P.S. Just thought I should clarify that I'm not actually calling your Wife the Devil :rotfl:

    That's EXACTLY my situation sukeyboo.

Well done on getting to target and maintaining :T

Thanks fannyanna for your PS which made me :D

My wife is a little overweight. She keeps saying I am not. But I am by a few stone - all of which I have put on slowly since we got married.

She copies me/what I do in other ways too.

Makes it so much more difficult.

Thanks Beanieloue - I'm keeping the faith :T

Thanks Banjo - I was lucky that I didn't have too much to lose in the first place - just a stubborn stone that was making me feel uncomfortable in my clothes.

I know it is hard when other people are trying to make you feel guilty but please try and stick with it - you will feel better for it and hopefully your wife will get used to eating and/or drinking different things to you.

Hugs to you, Frogga and all others that are struggling at the moment :)

    I've been thinking...

On monday I went to Sainsbugs and treated myself to some fruit. Quite a lot of fruit actually, and I ate it all on Monday evening. So om Monday, the day before the 2lb gain on Tuesday, I'd had ~

Breakfast ~ boiled Pots, 2 scrambled eggs, tinned toms, tin of baked beans, 1 slice of bread (HEB) mushrooms and lots of salad leaves (I know that's a bit weird but I like it)

Snack ~ tub of blueberrys and tub of melon/pineapple

Lunch ~ Spicey bean chilli and rice

    Snack ~ ff yogurt

Tea ~ jacket pot, LOADS of veg (carrots, french beans, cauli, brocoli, sprouts, cabbage AND stir fry veg!) and baked beans and 20g cheese grated on top

another ff yog, tub of rasberrys and two tubs of pineapple.

That's alot of food isn't it? BUT it is all free?? and that's what I mean. I have actually stuck to it, I didn't have ANY sins, I had 2 HEB and 1 HEA. I had 2 whole large tins of baked beans and prob 1/2 tin of spicey beans But that is a hell of a lot of food...

I think I may well have had a banana and a n apple at some point as well.....

God, I'm such a greedy pig...

  • I've been reading folks posts. A couple of thoughts for you to chew over here. I am well aware I may be shot down for some of this, but think on it anyways.

Slimming World is a fantastic plan. IT gives you the tools, but essentially it is up to YOU what you do with those tools.
You have not failed if you gain in a week. You chose to eat things you have. You can CHOOSE two paths to burn of that gain, Body Magic or Food Optimise.
A gain one week can be lost the next, and the next after that. But only you can control the outcome.

I am SO HAPPY I gained this week. I didn't FAIL. I refuse to fall under the pressure trap of "Must lose every week." I know what I ate that caused that gain, I know what I must do to lose it, keep it, or build on it ;)
Many people would say to me. "You know what you need to do.. why are you paying good money to step on someones scales and be made to feel bad?"
I didn't go to a group every week to be told :T or  I went to break a habit. To change my lifestyle.
    ME.
You are doing this for you. You are doing this because you want to control how you look, feel, are, or what you can do. You are not doing it to help some consultant build up a group, or a profit.
Your reasons. You're doing it for you.
    YOU!
It's not about them. If 'they' don't get it, thats their problem. If they don't see it, it's not them thats miserable about it. It's not their life at risk.

*ahem* My name is swiper and I am a control freak! :o

Seriously though guys. SW gives you the power to control your food. Use it wisely ;)

For those of you with OH's that are throwing emotional blackmail at you and making you feel bad. Have a wee talk. I noticed that I would blame hubby if HE had enticed ME to eat something off plan or over syn.
Then it wasn't my fault was it?
If your having one, then I can have one with you - socially accepted rule.
    "Go on then.."
But. If you are being super healthy and I eat something when you don't... OMG... does that mean I'm going to get fat? Does that mean I am evil? Does that mean I am doing something wrong? Will you disapprove? I really want a piece of cake, but I won't have any if you don't.
...Now your denying me my cake!
    "Go on then.."
Now I don't feel so bad eating my cake. If you can have it... I can too!
    See?
    :rotfl:
I am not sure I do now!
