Hi Banjo Bear,
Glad you are okay, you had people worried! Have you discussed you medication issue with your group leader or the doctor? Seems a bit extreme just to stop them. I know if I were in pain I'd eat more comfort food (that means chocolate by the way!)
Thanks Nightowl.
I put on my SW registration about my health issues and that I was on a lot of meds...but the SW consultant hasn't referred to it.
I'm stopping my twice daily oral NSAID which has a side effect stated as "swelling or rapid weight gain". I'm still taking my more powerful meds by injection.
I'm determind to break my body out of this "won't lose weight" whatever it takes.
I am sorry if i seemed to be making a mountain out of a molehill last Sunday about my wife and the olive oil. Obviously, if I had already lost a stone or two, i would feel more flexible about things. But being stuck on a plateau so early on is so frustrating. I do have OCD tendancies when it comes to some tasks. Always striving for perfection and control over what I want. I think this has manifested itself in my SW regime now.
Also, not having anyone to talk to or share feelings with. Why, I'm even starting to find Mrs Krabappel attractive :rotfl:0 -
Stef - can I clarify, did your 'fat clinic' recommend more carbs? I know they were keen for you to have seeded bread instead of wholemeal. Could you please them by having more wholemeal pasta or rice? Being really nosey, what is the 'fat clinic'? Is it to do with diabetes? Just wondered.
QUOTE]
The 'fat clinic' as i call it is a weight management service offered in my GP surgery. I asked for help when i got fed up of STS or little gains each week since xmas. It took less than 2 weeks to get in to see the lady who runs it. When on the books so to speak you are offered help to loose weight, open access to a dietician, referrals to a gym and weight loss workshops. I took with me the past 8 weeks food diaries, 7 of them SW ones and the 8th one was one they had posted to me prior to my appointment. You fill them out pretty much the same as SW as in you detail the components of a meal rather than 'i ate a curry'.
She then gave me a pie chart to look at which was posted a few pages ago which is broken down into sections of food we should be aiming to eat in a day. The FSA (food standards agency) recommend 5-7 portions of fruit and veg, 5-7 portions of bread, cereals and potatoes - this includes all pastas, rices and cous cous etc,, 2-3 portions of dairy so 200ml of milk is classed as a portion. then 2-3 portions of meat. fish or alternatives. Then 100cals a day for a treat.
Whilst looking at my food diaries she asked what sort of amounts i would be eating as a portion. Im not a big potato lover as get fed up eating them and so only have a couple of new potato sized ones on my plate at a time - the FSA advise 2 egg sized spuds to be one portion so i were falling short here, As previously mentioned the bread wasnt what they advised so i have swapped over to the Hovis seed sensations purely as it is a HEB and am staying with in the comfortable confines of SW. Then to just swap my white rices and pastas over to brown. Hopefully by doing this i will see the weight start moving again slowly but surely. If not then perhaps it is like others have mentioned a 'plateau' all i know is i will have tried what is asked of me. I signed up to the workshops too to have an understanding of the dietry stuff we need every day so i can become more informed on all of this for the time when i can consider becomming a consultant.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

I dont agree with you coming off the meds over night alot of the NSAIDS my hubby has taken require weening off so your body doesnt go into shock! I also understand that the paperworks to go with meds say about weight gain but my GP argues this saying the only time weight gain will come about is because some of them create a hunger that needs to be fed and so it is the over eating that causes the weight gain not the meds themselves. While being on SW you know yourself you can eat endlessly and loose weight its just altering your mind set to accept that is the case. Also a reason as to why you should be looking at what i put about the FSA guidelines and recommendations for amounts we should be eating a day so you can see you dont need to deprive yourself 'because you are on a diet'.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Just had a Tesco online order delivery.
I ordered a 1L bottle of Baileys at £12 as one of the pressies to my wife from the kids on Sunday.
But the driver said they had run out of 1L bottles, so had substituted 2 x 70 cl bottles for the same price of £12
So only need to wrap one bottle up for Sunday, and the other one is for me and Mrs Krabappel
Gosh, I dare not look up the syns0 -

Got my curry fest on the go now. Have tandoori chicken in the oven, classic chicken curry and shahi murgh on the stove. All from the curry heaven cook book. God help the neighbours, i bet they think a takeaway has moved next door from the smells wafting out the window. Just hope they taste every bit as good as they smell.
Have just written out a list of spices etc i am going to need as told hubby im fed up of Asda/Sainsburys prices for spices and quite often the lack of availability so going to risk going into Birmingham to Wing Yips in the week to stock up after comparing prices.:):j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
