will it still have effect if my hair is poker straight anyway? id like it if i gave me some cu n bounce
I have poker straight hair and this didn't curl mine, even the 'flick' at the ends is very very slight. I think this tool is more for smoothing and 'poofing up' the hair than curling

I think that statement may be a bit much given you've only used it once. I don't have very long hair but I certainly get the flicky curl, the 'bouncy' look from it, it just takes a little while to get the knack of it and figure out what works for you, how wet your hair needs to be, how you need to angle it, how small a section to do at a time. Every head of hair is different, stick with it and I would hope that you have more joy with it :)

From what I've seen on youtube, this tool seems to work best for people with a thick fringe; a bob (because of its smoothing properties) and people with loads of hair/ with slight curl (it blowdries it straight and smooths the frizz)?

I have poker straight hair that's shoulder length, it didn't give it too much volume but does make it look more 'done', the results on my hair is sort of like the 'rachel' hairstyle from Friends haha.

I personally found the youtube video by 'NishUnleashed' the most helpful, she has loads of hair and results looks great on her!

Yes, I don't think I've ever seen this product advertised as 'curling'. It's more of an easier way to blow dry, adding volume and turning the hair under or out at the ends. You would need tongs or rollers for curling.

I have long and wavy hair, and it's not possible to curl it at all with the babyliss... I love it to blow dry it though, it's much easier than using the hairdryer and a round brush. I use it every time I wash my hair.. I first dry it with a normal hairdryer, and then do the ends with the babyliss, separating it into sections.

I guess if i put some sort of product on it that will hold the shape, i could do some sort of big curls, but my hair is terrible holding any shape, and I don't like putting anything on it as it makes it greasy very quickly, so I always dry it straight, with as much volume as I can get.

Tried my new toy last night on my long fine hair that I usually straighten, not impressed with results, kinda just looks like I've not bothered to do my hair! Think it just takes some getting used to and practice though, I'm hopeful that I can make it work for me with a bit of trial and error with how damp the hair is and sectioning the right amount. Hopefully will be able to get a good hair do.
Hoping evenentually I can use this to volume up my hair and bit and then also learn how to use my new GHDs to add curls nearer the ends (which i can't do yet either, I'm not good at hair but determined to be able to 'do' my hair nicely for a night out)
  • Another try today from damp. Good as a straightener but not really getting the curl. As a side effect have discovered I'm def allergic to hairspray - back of neck itching like crazy!! Sadly not doing anything like what I wanted - should have checked it was suitable for my hair before I bought *rolleyes*

I'ts not a curling tool, so you'll never get curls from it. It's for adding volume and smoothing. I've used mine a few times now and definitely makes my hair smoother and bigger, still need to run the straighteners through it though to get rid of any kinks.
