Decluttering 2013, the saga continues ...

meant to do 13 items from the office but got carried away ;-) (and totally lost count). Result of 1 hour is amazing, and old units I was going to put in recycle are being reused so that's good (units as in study notes not furniture lol).
Morning's routine going very well too - all rooms we've already sorted I go in, light candle, open window, do any daily tidying, blow out candle, close window. It was from a feng shui declutter website and I have to say makes a really nice start to the morning. As noone had been in the sitting room yesterday that didn't need any tidying so I plumped up the cushions and polished the surfaces (which was really quick due to decluttering). Tonight I will declutter another 13 things at home. go team go we are all amazing and are going to have such amazing 2013s.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

A relative died last year and we've inherited LOTS of their stuff. Our spare bedroom hasn't been seen in months! Much of this stuff has ancestry and emotion attached to it and I've just not felt ready to tackle it as yet. We've had the loft boarded to give us somewhere to keep it temporarily until I'm strong enough to wade my way through and so its making its way up there and freeing up some living space. I know this isn't de-cluttering in its true sense but its helping as its not so in-our-faces. However, its got us to make inroads into tackling some of 'our' stuff and we've made a start. Today there's 4 bags for the charity shop, a bookcase cleared and a load of old papers shredded for the compost. Baby steps I know but I hope that by joining this thread I'll be able to continue to be motivated. There's a long way to go......
Someone posted about their clutter being someone else's 'offloaded - that really rang a bell with my as DMiL was a great 'passer on' of toot!
Well - while my Rhubarb in Ginger Wine was microwaving I managed to clear out the spice cupboard. Got rid of some WELL out of date bits & made a list for the SM to cover the gaps . It looks nice & clean & tidy :T I'll tackle the rest bit by bitSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I've been slowly sorting and clearing this morning. have managed to earmark 3 of dd's t-shirts to go to a friend's little one, 2 t-shirts for the clothing recycling bin, a few more bits for the car boot pile and I've been round removing small pieces of stuff for the bin. Not looking much different in the house tho lol0

was telling my mum about my progress on decluttering my office and she said she needed to do the same in her home office. But she needed to get a couple of paper tray stacks. Funny sed I I just happen to have a couple at work that noone else wants so they have now gone in her car. Another satisfied customerMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

5 minute declutter of kitchen cupboards produced the following:
Plastic plates
Baby bowls
Various plates
Jug
Pudding basin
Glass ramekins
Plastic cup
Nut cracker and board
Everyone's doing really well, little and often gets there in the end.
My kitchen is starting to look better. I've been able to move things I use down from the top shelf that I can't reach, as space has been freed up by getting rid of the junk.
Might get rid of some tea cups and saucers that I'm not keen, best check with OH first though as they were his before we met.
Its amazing isn't it what you can do in such a short space of time...makes you wonder what we do with the rest of the day lol
My upstairs is looking amazing....only trouble is all the unwanted stuff is coming downstairs ... my kitchen and dining room look like a squat!0 -
