Decluttering 2013, the saga continues ...

Today I may actually be on the last but one leg of final decluttering before moving house!
Just got the cupboard under the sink to clear out and I KNOW there is stuff that hasn't been used or even looked at in ten years. I imagine there will be half used bottles and jars. I can remember a local swimming pool closing about 13 years ago and I managed to obtain a number of unused green scouring pads - some of them are still at the back of the cupboard.
Two more bags to go out today from yesterday plus a cracked salad crisper drawer from my fridge. I ordered a new one from the manufacturer yesterday so don't suppose it can count.
I hope everyone has a good day, whether you manage to get rid of stuff or not. :j0 -
Last night we started moving books from the living room floor onto the new and the moved around book cases. There are definitely some to go, when I'm back from holiday I'm going to see I can get some money for them somewhere, otherwise I'll cs them, at least they're all on shelves for now.
But I did declutter:
51- 58 - leaflets/advertising etc that were just lying around in living room and that we don't need.
59-63 post for the previous owner whose mail redirection has expired. All returned to sender (they're getting more post than us at the moment!)
I have volunteering commitments tonight and tomorrow so realistically I'm not going to get a lot done, but will aim for 5 things each night.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Thank you everyone for your support. Woke up this morning and just cried, but came on here and feel much better already.
Mrs Moneypenny thank you, you are right, I have to keep reminding myself the only way is up! Off work today so can do some good tidying up and decluttering. If I can list a few bits as well as get a cs bag ready should help with my other debt free challenges.

Ventured into the loft:eek:
The following are off to the animal shelter later: 12in1 games set, loads of kids paperbacks, leather laptop bag, puzzles, paddling pools, ornaments and loads more....4 bin bags in total.
Also old carpet remnants, and cardboards boxes to tip/recycling.

"whitesatin my advice about the table set would honestly be keep it. it sounds like it is worth more than the money to you and i think you will regret if you let it go now. leave that untill your mind is more settled and in a happier place its not taking up a lot of room really and if it gives you pleasure and looks beautiful i'd say its allowed to stay."
Thanks, mrs-moneypenny. I am sure you are right. I took another look at it today and still love it so will launder it and vacuum pack it away. I would like to go back to living in a period house one day although it will have to be smaller than what we had.0 -

Did a few bits today and prepared a couple of bits for listing on eBay at the weekend.
My decluttering is catching. My husband wondered if I'd like to eBay his watch his parents gave him for his 21st birthday
I was like 'are you sure'? To my mind, something like that has major emotional attachment.
But he hasn't worn it for years and it's been languishing in a drawer for a long time.
I'm now watching a few similar ones on eBay, to see what sort of price they realise ( it's not a wildly expensive one )
To be honest, I'm not sure if I want to let it go - I'll have to think about it, even though it's not mineEarly retired - 18th December 2014
