Doing the fly lady cleaning thing in the living/dining/office rooms today. It's been quite tiring doing it but its paying off.
120. 121. Old underwear. All a bit very old lady frumpyville
122. Sample of Elastiser used up and damn it although a bit of a palaver my hair looks much better.
Started using up a self tan product I found. Had it for a while. I'm enjoying this type of decluttering and pampering.

84/85 2 bottles of rose oil have been sitting on the bathroom shelf for about 3 years since i tried it once and found it made the bath dangerously slippy and a swine to clean. thy still smell beautiful so was loathe to bin them so ive filled the oil diffusers that were all sitting round empty. the house now smells lovely and i have 2 empty bottles to go to the recycling bank tomorrow
I often pour out a medium amount of rose oïl and pour out a bigger amount of ordinary body cream/lotion,mix together in my hands and use as a body lotion. It feels quite luxuriant and is a simple extravagance.
I put out the second 35 L bin bag, crammed full of things that can't be recycled.I've tidied away some laundry,a duvet and a sofa cover that were lying arond.
One pie dish and some food containers to the cellar space.
One photo album to give away.
I need to look at my books again, and do some more re-arranging.
I'm off for two days now,so hopefully will find time.0 -
I forgot to say that when decluttering my books,I managed to leave one small shelf of a bookcase in the hall free of books.
Usually when I come into the flat with mail, unless I open it straightaway,it ends up on a pile in the hallway.More clutter....
I'm now using this free shelf to put my mail.It is making such a difference as the hallway is small.:)0 -

123. Placemat. Charity (with the other 3)
124. Bag of receipts for shredding
Found the bag of dry cleaning stuff. :j
So today it's 10th October. I should be up to around 160 items decluttered. 10 days x 16 things a day.
I must up my game a bit today then. I still have badly cluttered rooms so I need to venture into them. We're talking about that its hard to see the floor in one of the rooms!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

SO much stuff going out around this thread - good to read.
I think (fingers crossed) that my decluttering work is almost at an end now :j as I have been through every drawer, every cupboard and every wardrobe. I have been utterly ruthlessand it's paid off.
Now I just have to tidy up the bits and pieces I've pulled out and need putting back. Got a pile of pots and pans to go to CS as they can't be used on the new hob, along with assorted other items which aren't wanted.
Clothes have gone to CS too. The only books in the house are four cookery books, about 12 special ones (written by family or sentimental value) and a large pile of unread novels. I decluttered most of the books two years ago, gave all my academic ones to the university and recycled all the fiction. They all got to be too many and were largely unread. Now I read and give away or friends read theirs and give to me.
Freezing cold, bright sunny day and I need to get a move on.
Three weeks to move out date! :eek:0 -
Whilst in the loft yesterday I collected several half empty boxes of offsprings school work, he sorted through them (chucked some bits) and I put them in the right class order in 1 box and clearly labelled the box, so when he brings more home at the end of the school year it can go with the other school work and not into yet another half empty box on its own.
Decluttered some more items this morning for charity: big pile of crime paperbacks, 2 pairs of crocs, a basket, and address book.
Planning on selling: DVDs, bag, electric steamer and some good quality toys....0
