ive got a handle on the toiletry and make up purchases so am slowly working through those but the food and cleaning product cupboards are rammed. i need to get a grip on meal planning etc. i think if i could seriously do that we could go about 6 months with only buying bread and fresh fruit veg and milk
I'm exactly the same, can't resist a bargain, plus I have an addiction to buying cleaning products, lol! I must have a sort out of the cupboard under the sink next week, as things keep falling out when I open the door, lol!Rosy_Bottom wrote: »I'm getting addicted to decluttering.bigdaftkid wrote: »Think I am addicted now too Rosie Bottom
Decluttering is definitely addictive, lol!
I've not posted for a while, but I'm still plodding along. Posted another ebay parcel yesterday, only a DVD but every little helps, lol! My niece is finally coming to visit over the weekend, the spare room still looks a bit like a warehouse, but it's usable for her overnight stay.
A lot of things have been put away into cupboards and drawers so the house is presentable, so I will have to sort that next week. Did a pile of shredding today, and binned a tub of tile adhesive that has been in the shed for years as it had gone solid, so OH had to use the last of a tube of overlap and repair adhesive to re-stick some coving, which has been loose for about 2 years, and the tube for that has also been binned.
Yesterday I gave an electric razor to my dad, as he said he needed a new one, and OH had bought one for about £2 a few years ago (a special staff offer at Mr S) and has never used it.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

I used to post a lot on this thread-last year mainly.I haven't had much to declutter this year, but have been bitten by the bug again.
So,in the last few days I've decluttered:
-44 empty jam jars (recycling) from the cellar space
-30-40 plastic plant pots put out at the road end.Hopefully someone will take them.
-79 books for the c/s,though hoping to increase this figure.
.my N@spresso machine, cleaned and descaled is going to the cellar space as I never use it.I've become a tea drinker, though might drink coffee again in the future,so will hang onto it.
-lots of plastic food containers that, realistically,I'm not going to use.
-1 dvd player for the c/s.
-6 video s to the c/s
-7 tins (chocolate box variety)to the c/s.
There are a few other bits that I've recycled, but can't remember exactly what they are...
I wonder what else I'll find to declutter?;)0 -
Found another box of old photos yesterday and so wound up sitting at the PC and scanning them all in. Then had to do the Photoshop bit of cleaning them up. They were mostly those little square black and white photos with the crinkle edges. Unfortunately a whole load were of unknown people and/or unknown dates. So sad. I suppose that the new technology means that we always know the date of photos.
Still got some to do today and then I will add them all to the 'take to the fire and burn' pile.
Pulled out the contents of the living room cupboard too - now they are all piled on the sofa. Have a mental label on them 'to be dealt with on Sunday'.
Happy days folks.0 -
Work beckons but sorted through some drawers of light bulbs. Sorted an unusual bulb to give to a friend for a lamp we no longer have and threw away some packaging. Put all energy saving bulbs together in one drawer. Have 2 energy bulbs to take to the tip. Can't go into ordinary rubbish as when they break they release a small amount of mercury I think it is.
Now I can see what bulbs we're short of so we can stock up and be prepared for winter too.
This brings the tally to 59 items. :j
Hope everyone is making good progress with their decluttering :TDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Well the bathroom decluttering continues and I (ok the plumber/builder) have cleared out part of a wall, oodles of tiles and the flooring. This will also mean that the giant piles of tiles and bathroom accessories will soon have a proper home in and around the bathroom instead of the hall and the dining room
In relation to the rest of the house I have bagged up to return to various people/places:
Mums
2 tops
2 DVD sets
1 pair of socks
various hose attachments
Friend 1
2 tops
2 books
Friend 2
giant bag of magazines
Work
3 books
Yesterday I went through the giant pile of paperwork and cleared out all the rubbish and shredded the bits we didn't need so the pile just needs to be filled away now.
I have also started collecting things for the charity shop and some gifts from the gift drawer are heading out to people todayI will update later today

62. 63.64. Table mats. Charity
65. 66. Broken curtain poles.
I think I have spotted some storage space in a cupboard. I may use it for storing bulk buying of beans, tomatoes and things like that. But also some Xmas food bits. Probably more of the latter.
