500 things divided by 31 days of October = approx 16 things a day to declutter. Give or take. 16 things sounds kind of attainable. If I target the loft alone that will provide plenty of things
Declutter 500 things in October challenge :j
De cluttered 10 things from there - old cardboard box emptied of stuff, magazines, books. Lots of bits of packaging. Sadly had to bin some plant food, the box and contents were soaked/clumpy. See this clutter lark ruins useful stuff.
It's hard work in there so I'll have another go tomorrow. Maybe look for some toiletries to use up now that have been lurking a while.
10 down, only 490 to go
How's everyone else getting on :jDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Thanks bigdaftkid - wise words
Great stuff mrsm - pamper away, you deserve it after all that gardening
Just found a bag to give to the charity shop so tally is now 11/500. Have to say that none of this is stuff we're using or enjoying. So why the hell have we got it.
Found an inspiring blog (think someone on here recommended it) - miss minimalist.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

I'm up for 500 things out of the house in October.
I'm also going to be keeping a careful eye on what comes in. I don't generally work well at buying nothing of something for a month as I then splurge the next month. However my disposable income has gone down thanks to increasing the direct debit on our mortgage significantly - big drop in bank balance this morningInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98
Overpayments to date - £79.62

just been through the airing cupboard found some potential 'to go' bits but wont list them as going till ive offered them to the DDs if not they are in the CS box.
also why has DS2 who hates footie with a passion and only plays when he has to at school got 7 pairs of footie boots?????? i pick them up at car boots as its not worth buying new as they dont get much wear and he only wears them for school lessons during season. but i seem to have amassed double sets for him to grow into and a pair he wore last season that im sure are too small. he can have a trying on session tonight and keep one of each 'growing into' size the rest can be donated tto the school "sir, i forgot my kit box" that should get me down to 3 pairs.
found 4 childrens books i can take into school at lunch time for the library box
so that me up to 7 items so far only 493 to go LOLSPC~12 ot 124

Great to see so many of you joining in :j
Whatever your individual target here's to less stuff and clutter. :j
I've targeted some toiletries to use up. Hope to finish them up tonight. Will definitely need to revisit my make up bag. I used a foundation today that didn't look like an orangey colour and looked so much better for it. I know there's some that need to go. My aim is to get down to just one make up bag.
Going to venture into the kitchen now. I'm sure there are surplus bits and bobs laying about. Just need to find 16 things a day!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

12. 13. Out of date oils hiding in a kitchen cupboard
14. 15. Knackered golf accessories (gloves)
16. Seed mix to a friend
17. Sample size of hand cream used up
No two ways about it the challenge to declutter 500 things will be tough. But so worthwhile. Today I found a picture which I forgot I had.
Going to target bad areas again tomorrow. So that's the under sink cupboardfor a start.
I like the videos by this lady, some good tips
