    Decluttered this morning:

    Wallet
    Mother's day card
    2 hanging ornaments
    Meccano set

Aiming to get the children to sort out their drawers in the lounge, brace yourself, you'll be able to hear the screams from here!
  • I meant to post this yesterday, but I follow The Clutter Diet blog, and love Lori's videos. I thought this one was particularly interesting and useful!
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

My daughter's been very good, we sorted out her drawer and managed to declutter:

    Old magazines
    Stickers
    Random bits of plastic
    Birthday and Easter cards
    Odd dolls shoes
    2 bags from Brownie camps
2 books (plus 1 to return to school)
Plus a few toys to the charity shop

All the pens, pencils and crayons are now in a nice new pencil case (Christmas present), some of the kept toys have been transferred to her bedroom. Now there is room in the toy drawer for art stuff, which is currently cluttering up the kitchen.

I'm getting there honest! Let's hope my son is as co-operative as his sister, it's his toy drawer next...

I'm lagging behind - I think I'm still in hibernation mode!! Only things I've decluttered are a book for a friend and I decanted one half empty bottle of green food colouring into another half empty bottle so now I've got one full one. As the bottles are minute I dont think its going to make a great deal of difference ;)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Have been sporadically reading this and previous threads and trying to declutter. Now really need to be motivated so decided to post.

Some small items belonging to other family members have 'gone missing' since Christmas and of course it is my fault as I must have tidied them away, or binned them, in preparation for visitors over the festive season.

Having screamed at them that they need to put their own stuff away, I am taking the opportunity to declutter whilst looking rather than just reshuffle.

The two offspring are back at uni, so the house has the least amount of contents currently and I can sort into their rooms as I go along.

The loft and garage are full, as well as every available storage place, so there is a long way to go.
Husband is not helpful really, there are many things that have come down from the loft regularly to go to the skip, only for him not to want them to go, or that wait so long that they go back when the next visitors are coming.

    This year, definitely!

Target 100 items month in addition to normal rubbish.

    Starting now!

    CW.

just 'decluttered' an ageing lemon into a lemon drizzle cake :)

OH has put up new handrail at top of stairs (we have an Edwardian cottage with steep, narrow stairs and the bannister only goes half way up, and I found it a bit dangerous, especially for visitors who are used to wider stairs). So all the B&Q paraphenalia (sp?) we bought for this job is now gone.

About to tackle bathroom shelves
    Wish me luck :rotfl:

Taking a break from decluttering the art boxes, aaaggghhhh. Managed to chuck out:

Lots of finished / half finished art work
Dried up paint and play doh
    Boxes
    Broken plastic things
Colouring, sticker and activity books (charity shop)
    Plastic scissors
And far too many other bits and pieces to mention

Bin has been emptied 3 times already, recycling overflowing and everyone is feeling a little stressed. Ah well, no pain, no gain. Back to work I go.
