Right there with you on the previous on spending right away - in this case I would probably have justified buying an ipad with all that money off

Ohhhhh an ipad.
No, only joking, but that is exactly how I would have thought too. Dunno about you but I am happy to be where I am now. I will be able to afford an ipad one day without having to get into debt to get one. Yes but then you'll get here and think "but do I really need one?" don't think I asked myself that much in the past and I probably do too much now, I'm sure somewhere in the middle there's a happy medium just wish I could get there:o!

It's amazing how we can turn around these feelings isn't it.
I-pad - That is exactly what I would have done and not that long ago either but now I would hoard that card like a miser feeling smug for every day that it went unspent. It'll feel all the more sweeter when we can afford to buy the things we really need plus treats now and then without getting into debt to have them.

Good Morning
Well, what to do today???
Lots of housework in store for me I'm afraidAfter having four dogs in the house yesterday I need to hoover, polish, mop and scrub
Not to metion wash, dry and iron
Not a very exciting day but a spend free one
I have some things lined up to list on ebay, I doubt they'll bring very much, or even if they'll sell, but you've got to try and every little helps (to coin a well known phrase)
The Mr T card will remain unspent for another dayThere is nothing I need and the dinner for tonight is in the slow cooker already
I have my meal plans written out until the end of the month to use up all the stuff I have hoarded away and am trying to stick to it, despite the DDs cries of 'there is nothing to eat' which really means there is no icecream/crisps/junk
It is so cold here at the moment but I think we are going to be lucky and miss the snow. Famous last words. I hope so, after my smash at the beginning of December I am really nervous about driving in general and driving when it is slippy makes me want to cryI'm such a wimp
Have a great spend free Sunday everyone and stay warm.Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -

and I have no intentions of using it tomorrow either. How times have changed. Once upon a time I would have rushed right out to spend it and more on top but now I see it as a way to get me through the next month without touching my bank account
I hope it works out that way-not touching your bank account, that is!:)
No chance of some input from your DDs for the mamouth housework session?Hope it isn't all housework today and you find some 'me' time.
I hope that you don't get snow. It's forecast here for today and the next few days.:(0 -
Ohhh the i-pad *sigh* - unfortunately I do still get errr cravings for things now & then (I'd really, really, really like touch pad) but am a lot better than I used to be in that I don't rush straight out & buy whatever it is!
However, I do still worry about how the next generation is going to fair - I remember before christmas someone saying in their diary that their DD was getting some kind of fancy phone .... and that they already had a black*berry and an i*phone .... does that teach the value of things? Sorry but that's a no in my book - it's hard enough for kids these days with all these gadgets that they're constantly exposed to and really have no concept of how much things cost / the value of money ..... ooops sorry - that was a bit deep for first thing on a Sunday :rotfl:
Slept in a bit ... need to get my butt into gear and take Maisie out - snow forecast here later  so better get the big walk done this morning ... just in case. I've 15 mins to get my butt into gear (always wait a min of 1 hour before or after walking before she's fed ... she had breakfast about 8:30)
Enjoy your housework FreebyI'll be doing much the same!

Thanks marmiteThe best laid plans and all that but life has a funny old habit of getting in the way
No chance at all of the DD's helping. They will offer but I will send them off to do their rooms. I am afraid I am a bit OCD about my housework and would only go around behind them doing it 'my way'

I completely agrree rising. My two have to wait until birthdays and christmas before they get anything and even then I say 'no' to them if they are expensive and unnecessary. DD2 wanted a fancy pair of headphones for Christmas - over £100 for a pair of headphones  She was told no chance and if she got money as a pressie she could put it towards buying them herself. I stuck a £9.99 pair of ear buds in her stocking
Enjoy your walk, I have been and blinking cold it was too :eek:Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
