I think the best thing I found in the past week was two fresh Tuna steaks reduced to £1.50, and I've never eaten fresh Tuna, but golly it was lovely.

  • Lots of bargains in Aldi today. Bread/tea-cakes/cakes at 50% off. Party food half price - got some bags of mini kievs for 49p. Christmas puds, panettone etc all reduced. Savings on fresh meat products too - got some mini pork sausage half price and noticed quite a few other meat products with half price stickers on. Chocolate Santa lollies half price as are the gorgeous Marzipan bars - a steal at 49p. I never see anything in Aldi with more than 50% off, does anybody else?

I like reading all your finds as right now i have banned myself from going whoospie hunting until i have emptied at least 1 of my 3 freezers. Original intention was to always have the 1 freezer with my essentials in like frozen veg, chips ect and the other with all my whoopie finds. The outdoor one was meant just for emergency space when finding a whoopise you can't resist but i still managed to fill all 3!
Almost there now though and hardly spent anything on food over xmas really. Be glad to go hunting again as do miss it but looking at prices kind of dreading that the finds aren't going to be as great as what i was used to. Meat seems to not manage to get to the reduced counter much either.

My small 4 drawer freezer (only 2 of us) is crammed with whoopsies now and I even had to bag up the pork cocktail sausagues up tonight to fit them in! I really mustn't go whoopsie shopping for a few days but can't resist. Plenty of time now I only work part-time. Maybe I need to find another hobby(lol)! I can hardly shut the fridge door as well. Still think of it this way, a full freezer uses less elec - definitely money saving. Love the waitrose cheesecake photo!

Hi, theres only me and i have an even smaller 3drawer freezer. I work in a supermarket and am now having to stop myself whoopsy shopping as ive had to take 2 of the drawers out and neatly stack all my bargains i found today. I was panicking on the way home from shopping as i thought there was no way i could fit all of the bargains in, i only left one out which i will use tomorrow. Im sure it wont go off within 24hours. I bought lots of reduced meat and fish (already prepared to oven bake which were orginally around £3 to £4 and i paid £1.20 to £1.60 for most of it. The most expensive was £2.40 for prepared meat with a sauce which will either serve 2 (one for my boyfriend as we cook for eachother) or ile cook it up and use it the next night. Just a quick question.. In the fresh veg department they do small packs of veg, ie mini sweetcorn, green beans, peppers, mange tout and asparagus etc there called stir fry medleys (quite expensive) but i got these reduced. Has anyone frozen these, im going to give it a go but im unsure when cook if they will taste as fresh. Not sure whether to chuck them straight in a pan of boiling water from frozen or defrost and cook in a little oil/butter.
