Hows everyone doing with supermarket reductions?

I picked up loads of YS when it was snow on the ground as not many ventured out.0

Last week I picked up YS Sainsbury's SO organic wild rocket and spinach for 57p each IIRC and ASDA organic carrots for 62p. :j0

tesco lamb shank 55p instead of |£5.250

I got a lovely Tesco Finest cake for 26p last night. And a posh loaf of some celebrity chefs soda bread for 13p, it was well in the date code - the packaging was damaged a little.
My best bargain of recent weeks has to be 2 1/2 dozen eggs for 70p - two eggs were a little cracked. I microwaved them for the dog.Grocery Challenge - February £1000 -
There's are new waitrose opened up near me so though I would go in for a look. they didn't have a dedicated whoopsie bit all stuff is just reduced on the shelves
small quiche lorraine 1.50/.59p
large quiche 2.29/.69p
lasagne 1.79/.79p
chicken,mushroom,pasta bake 3.65/1.09
broccolli florets 1.12/.19p
leeks 1.99/.49p
baby corn 1.60/.29p plus 70p off a 2 for 2.50 :j
So quite a good bargain, never shopped in waitrose before but will defo be going again and all these were reduced when I was in around lunch time :T:T0 -
Went through Canary Wharf for a meeting the other day at lunchtime. Absolutely jam-packed Waitrose that had some reasonable markdowns at lunchtime, with no competition for them.
I bagged a salad for 50p and a large feta and caramelised onion pizza for £2.00 that was our champagne-tastes-and-beer-money dinner all sorted.Grocery Challenge - February £1000 -
Hadn't been to a supermarket in ages, definately needed bread so tried to time it for reduction time. Got a nice loaf for 20p, some nectarines for 33p, a pot of single cream for 29p, and a pack of "bake at home" french rolls for 15p. Used the cream for dinner last night (pasta with mushrooms and ham in a creamy sauce) followed by a nectarine. The bread is all in the freezer. also got a £3 off £20 spend, handy as I do need to make a large-ish shop sometime next week and sadly can't rely on reductions for all my shopping.GC September 2012 - £49.04/£80 |GC October 2012 - £50.28/£80 |GC November £63.59/£60 (one adult only)0

As it's a new store it's been hit and miss as regards stock levels and the rotation isn't quite up to scratch yet so there is a bit of a glut of reductions at the moment. That will eventually settle down. However, reductions are done all through the day - they try and start the next day's the night before. There's also no pattern to when the best time is to go in yet as it depends whether they get round to reducing things again. I was in one night at 6 o'clock and everything was 10p, another night they were half price. Staff are still in training so it's a wee bit chaotic! I got a kilo of boneless haddock and some packs of lamb mince for 10p the other day.
PS. Anything that's not sold goes to a food bank. :TIf I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
Morrisons - Always top notch for bargains on Sundays around 3.30pm. Reduced rotisserie chickens (they went down to 99p one week), reduced bakery, reduced cakes section. Best!
Been to a Tesco near my Aunties place on a Sunday afternoon before, always good reductions there!
This evening went to a Marks and Spencer, just by chance as I was passing there and thought to try my luck to see what might be going as it was 30mins before their closing time. Moderately pleased with my finds there, got 2 instore cakes for 80p (were 99p each). Got satsumas for 80p (which is good for M&S I reckon). Got some baguette-wrap for 80p too which was probably about £3 or something crazy like that. Tried my luck asking if a product would be going down any more she said 'not just yet'. I was like err ok, when might it be going down then? You aint gona sell it at that price.
Think I prefer Morrisons for their bargains myself! - the staff at my local are much more friendlier. Where I live there is a Morrisons and an M&S simply food across the road from each other0 -
Popped out tonight to try and get some of the Finish Dishwasher tabs glitch at Tesco Express - got 3 in the first one and 6 in the second so well pleased. Thought I might as well look in the Tesco Extra for any reductions and timed it just right as the meat was being taken out the back to be reduced again!
It was a bit of a free for all when the assistant came out with a tray full of meat but I managed to get duck breast, fillet steak, turkey steaks, chicken breast - all with 75% off or more so well pleased. Also treated myself to 4 bunches of flowers at 20P each:j0
