  • Hello! It's my first time on this thread, although have been aware of NSD's for a while & unofficially counting them has certainly helped me see how much I frittered away before.
15 NSD'S and 4 in a row for me please.
Hopefully all the requests from school for money & stuff for hampers & raffle tickets will have eased off! :-)
  • my oh did some grocery shopping this morning spent £40, got fresh milk and bread etc also a broom which broke over Christmas.so hopefully we are ok until next weekend so should get of to a good start in January. we have petrol and i always take lunch with me so fingers crossed i should have a few nsd by next sat.
You can if you think you can .
  • I've got my shiny new 2013 diary ready to go. Works so well when I write down every single thing I buy. It starts tomorrow.

    Mine starts tomorrow too! :D

Everyone's tastes are different but a relaxing bath or shower are a good, cheap one. It doesn't even have to be expensive toiltries - they usual stuff can do! Personally I think it's about the 'ceremony' around the baoth or shower - ie get in the right mind set to chill out when running the water or stepping into the shower. Personally I think it feels tonnes better if I plan to 'treat' myself to a bath or long hugely bubbly shower :D

Guess what I've just done :D

One of my resolutions for next year is to be nicer to myself - there's no reason why I can't have a bit of a soak in the bath * with some nice bubbles once a week ... and then actually put on body lotion etc when I get out - I have loads of the bloomin stuff!:o

    * soak currently lasts 10 mins instead of the usual 5 min in & out ... I get bored :o & need to work on this!

Kindle or book... I can be in the bath for an hour if I leave it till the kids are sleeping and take my kindle with me.

I'm too scared to take the Kindle in case I drop it:o - might have to dig out one of the 100s of "real books" I've got to read:rotfl:

I got rid of my bath and just have a big walk in shower now.
I could never relax in the bath and was fed up after 5 minutes even if I took a book with me :o I absolutely hate being wrinkled so used to lie there with my feet and hands sticking out of the water. :o:rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Glad it's not just me! If I were to read in the bath (new house only has a shower at the mo :() I'd be there for Aaaaggggeesss.... but I'm a tad OCD about books and things and would be gutted if I got water on something I was reading :o

So like you, I'm in a bath for as long as it takes to clean and shave. I do last a little longer though if I have tealights as the only light source and the landing light isn't on, and I have Adele, Corrine Bailey Rae or Nora Jones on. Baths stopped being the same for me though late last year when one of our cats was run over - he'd avoid the bath like the plague but he'd sit on the shut loo lid and snooze, keeping me company. And that disappeared alongside the pud. The kitten we have started joining me in the bathroom, which I thought was awsome. Until I realised he was looking puzzled and possibly morbidly interested in what the bath was, and I started spending my 'relaxing time' wondering if the kitten was going to jump in :rotfl:

Thank you for the suggestions, I think some "me time" is a lovely idea for a treat! I also hate the feeling of being all wrinkled after a bath, but that's probably nothing that a lovely, smelly body moisturiser couldn't solve!

A lot of my resolutions are focused around being nicer to me - eating a lot more healthily - (well eating properly - due to stress I just stopped eating), and drinking more water (I can go the whole day without a drink as I am not a tea/coffee drinker).

Think a long bubble bath might be my reward on Sunday! It will also help me get through the first 2 days back at work - my breakdown was very much work related due to a horrible colleague - and after Christmas Hols, I really don't want to go back but don't want to be signed off either as that will make me feel worse. However, new year, new start and I need to just go back with a new positive outlook and make sure that I don't let my job or the people I work with affect my outlook on life!
