Hi can you please put me down for 10 NSDs for January. I'm not including direct debits BUT only days where both myself and my husband don't spend anything will count. Thanks!

    Hi,

Can I please climb back onto the MSE wagon, I have fallen off big time, and although I am starting 2013 in a much better financial position than I was in this time last year, (actually am in a much better position than I have been in the last 10 years thanks to this site) I find myself spending money on things that I don't really need, and tbh don't always really want which has resulted in clutter in my house and a few excess lbs around my waist and hips... :o

Am going to buy myself a little diary tomorrow that I can keep in my handbag and keep completely separate from my work diary so I can track my spending and am hoping to work from a mainly cash only approach, am going to try to keep separate pots for the things that I know I need to pay out for this month, eg food, mot, road tax etc so hopefully this will help me curb unnecessary spending.

So can I please set myself a target of 10 NSDs and a 3 in a row and adjust as I go if that is okay? I am planning on making a few New Years resolutions - trying to make 2013 a much better year, have had an awful past few weeks, resulting in major depression and a breakdown, so have decided that resolutions for the upcoming year are the way to go! I thought of treating myself at the end of each week if I manage to keep my resolutions as an incentive to turn them into habits, haven't decided on what my rewards will be yet, hopefully nothing that will involve too much spending lol! Don't drink and am trying to cut down on my sugar intake so any reward suggestions that I can use will be much appreciated!
  • I've got my shiny new 2013 diary ready to go. Works so well when I write down every single thing I buy. It starts tomorrow.

Everyone's tastes are different but a relaxing bath or shower are a good, cheap one. It doesn't even have to be expensive toiltries - they usual stuff can do! Personally I think it's about the 'ceremony' around the baoth or shower - ie get in the right mind set to chill out when running the water or stepping into the shower. Personally I think it feels tonnes better if I plan to 'treat' myself to a bath or long hugely bubbly shower :D
