  • Urgh! I am now shattered :o Hardly surprising really - i was wide awake after sending my assignment off and then had an upset stomach (again!) i know !! so was up half the night with that :( and of course had to get up super early for the doctors appointment. Good news ish is that i am being referred - just that i'm not being referred for what i want referring for :o i know i am no doctor but i am convinced that there are certain foods which trigger my stomach upset and if we could eliminate them from my diet fab :T Apparently though this is really hard to determine :( so i'm being referred for goodness only knows what - i know i should have asked but i was a) tired and cold b) used all my energy explaining the almost daily inconvenience this causes me c) i was relieved to get referred for something Oh well! We will see.

I've another load of washing on, done the bathroom, chased the voucher and entered a couple of competitions and declutterd a magazine! I've also got the addresses sorted for the items i have sold :T The bad news is that once again the computer took over 30minutes to get on-line :( Yesterday i just didn't turn it off after i got it going - i know its not MSE but i couldn't risk not having access to the topic which was on-line and also submission of my assignment was on-line too :o

Just had a look for a job and still can't decide about that one i keep seeing oooh! What to do! What i did see was some details about a free course :o on-line :o Have i got the time to do it ? The thing is i have a very specific and unskilled job role :( this qualification would get me up to date with more general business and admin stuff which is lacking on my cv and in my current role so hopefully it'll give me the opportunity to say - well my role does not involve that (no point tweaking the cv on this its obvious my role doesn't cover it) but i have got this.... Answers on a postcard please :D

Right, sadly the pots won't wash themselves and i have to go out for the food shop a bit later as well as pack and post parcels and call in on family so i'd better get a wriggle on!

    Hope everyone is well xx

    Glad you've been referred.

Do you keep a food diary? If you think something is triggering your stomach upsets then a diary might help you identify a pattern. Otherwise, could you not try eliminating something one at a time and seeing if that has an effect?

Go for the job! If you don't get it, nothing lost bar a bit of time. If you do get it, you can make the decision whether you want it then.

To be honest, I would think very carefully about the course - yes it sounds good, but you are overwhelmed with the ones you are doing right now and you don't need to be putting any more pressure on yourself.

What sort of business and admin skills do you think you are lacking? You might find you can provide evidence of them through your study - time management, IT skills, managing priorities, etc etc. Combine that with customer service skills, and that covers an awful lot of jobs.

  • I'm pleased you got a referral because the next doctor might know what is wrong, even if it just a fresh perspective on things rather than their specialty.

I'm with Jwil on eliminating something, maybe for a couple of weeks, and see if it helps. After a nasty food poisoning incident, my stomach was rough for ages (like 18 months) and I lost a lot of weight. In the end, I went down the food elimination route. Dairy products have never totally agreed with me so I cut them out. I think food elimination only works if you totally cut out the food rather than cut back so I was really careful, spent ages in the supermarket reading labels etc. I was lucky that this worked almost immediately and, even better, about 3 months later I was able to go back to eating dairy products again and have been fine.

  • Morning World,

First off to reply to the 2 fab posts and suggestions and then a little plot and plan about the rest of the day weekend methinks :D

jwil - great minds think alike :D i am such a jump in and do things now person sometimes - its partly because i wasted so much time in the past and partly because i'm a butterfly by nature and like to have various things on the go that i move between and also because, with this course, i do love to learn new things :D But i have realised i don't need to do this now. January has gone by in an absolute whirl! As will the next 4 months - which takes me to the end of my course - so... if i still want to do the new course then i'm sure it will be available and i could do it as an intense course in june / july :) So i can and will leave this for now.

The job i;m thinking of applying for is a career really rather than a job if that makes sense - there are very specific qualifications i'd need to obtain - whilst working at the job - to be qualified. In fact i think legally i couldn't do the job without being enrolled on the course. Herein lies the dilemma... if its not something i intend to stick with long term (as its got nothing to do with my degree or what i want to do after that) is it worth applying and sticking with it 1 year / 18months - there may even be financial implications in that if the course is paid for by an employer i may need to repay them if i leave within a certain time frame - i think places put that in contracts. There is then of course the fact of working and learning said job whilst still studying for the degree. A big decision about the next couple of years that i need to perhaps think about and find out about the job / qual i'm thinking about :)

The exclusion diet does sound good but i think its a few things rather than just 1 so i don't know if excluding 1 item would help if i'm still eating the other ? I actually think dairy is a problem for me and meat - but then i thought wheat was too and i've tested fine on that...

  • Incredibly i've been up a few hours already!! i could hear people digging out their cars from all the snow this morning. As i was awake i had a little read and relax. I then came down and ended up donning wellies and woollens and heading out to push cars :D

I've had a little chat with neighbours and a cuppa :coffee: of which i probably need another now :) and of course i have done none of the things i really wanted to get started on / needed to do

Today i'll start on the list i've already posted up a couple of posts back and i'll break this up with sorting out jumpers and cardi's :D

    First though breakfast!!

hope you all have a good weekend i'll be popping on here throughout the day too. it'd be lovely to hear what everyone is up to :)

Hi Slowly - sometimes the days when you don't need to do anything and can just relax are the best :D I'm just going to update / amend my list and then going to venture out for a 3mile walk in this winter wonderland :)

Am fairly tired after my walk - it was pretty hard going in the snow!! :)

Made a little more progress on this weekends to do list but probably going to take it easy for a bit now - i've got a bit of quiet time tomorrow so should be fine for getting on with nvq stuff then rather than now!

I'll need to clear the bed at some point - its covered in jumpers and cardi's :o Need to make some decisions on getting rid of things  Working whats needs and suits and what isn't and doesn't. Hoping this will generate 1 or 2 bits for the bay of e *fingers crossed*

Hope everyone is ok and having a good weekend.
