  • Go for it - you are nearly there with the assignment and can then take a break from it for the weekend :D

I'm OK, thanks. Had to work a lot hours the last couple of weeks. I have a day off in lieu today so can watch the snow from the window without having to go out and get cold.

There are lots of useful things I could be doing today like housework and sorting out old clothes to sell or take to the charity shop. However, I might just have a lazy day and see if I can find some energy for the weekend.

    Take care x

  • Thanks Guys :D

Jwil - do you remember that assignment you did that you struggled with? i think i must've felt the same with this one - i've spent so many hours on it and its the worst thing i've ever written :( But its done now.

Chocs - no resting weekend for me sadly - i am just having a minute and then start in on the next assignment.

Have you managed to do any more running ? i wanted to get out today to clear my head from the assignment but the snow from the last few days has put a stop to that.

What did you do yesterday ? Did you have a nice lazy day in the end ?

plan for me today is to go through the carboot bag and select any bits that i should put on eb*y at 99p start.

I *have* started decluttering again :o i shouldn't have *i know* but i have made the big decision to declutter so this house is easier to live in and look at things and think: am i using this ? When did i last use it ? Is it taking up space unnecessarily ? Would i miss it if i didn't have it ? Can i make any money from this that i can put towards the essential jobs that *need* to be done ?

What i do is do some study then get up and lift things out e.g yesterday was my hat boxes so not everything at once. Do some more study. Assess 1 hatbox / study and so on :) I appreciate the break and physically doing something and the distraction :) and hopefully helps with clearing the house / raising money etc.

This year i'm very focused on getting the money together to fix the things that need to be fixed here and also getting into the habit of regular savings as well as regular overpayments on the house. I really want to move but have no money at all for this and this house needs too many jobs doing on it as well :o

Right off to make some lunch then

1 get up to speed on study (may impact on assignment)

2 go through assignment question again

    3 plot out an answer

4 keep at it and bits of decluttering inbetween

I remember that assignment well :o Hope yours was better than expected.

Good luck with the decluttering - I think short bursts mixed in with the assignment is a good way to go.

    Have a good day :)

    Hello all!

And thanks for the well wishes :D I'm really disappointed that yesterday i was so ill (again) i spent most of the day in the bathroom - and then a good portion of the night too :( meaning i didn't get *any* of my assignment done :eek::eek: i had wanted to get up early today to press on with it but discovered, as expected, that after being so ill i was exhausted and a good sleep this morning was much needed :)

So i am having a cuppa whilst trying to keep calm and logically think and plan my assignment  it doesn't help that the question is spread out over 8 pages which are dotted around 3 different course materials. So step 1 is to pull it all together and understand whats needed so i don't miss anything out.

Step 2 choosing the focus of the answer

Step 3 i have an idea of this bit already - breaking the word count down into relevant sections choosing some of those sections is essential and important for this and for keeping the focus

    Step 4 Get writing!

I really need to hand this piece of work in on time this week and don't want to ask for an extension - next weekend will be spent playing catch-up on other things that can't be put off any longer - there will be a nice date night with my Mr who has been somewhat neglected this last few weeks - that one nice thing is broken up with: completing and submitting tax return  NVQ at least 20 pages of workbook to be completed (i am so far behind with this ) Start TMA4 which is a hugely important one. Actually before starting this e-mail tutor and check that what i'm working on is ok. Doctors appointment - time consuming and also pushing to get referred so a bit of a stress. Operation house clean prior to hairdresser (long overdue as well ) coming round. Pay gas and electric bill  pay money off mortgage, pay money into savings and think about *money* as in get listing on the bay of e again and not be so lazy and check for any MS's that are conveniently dated and located - i.e had one to do this friday but didn't apply as i'd have no time to prepare. If the job vacancy is still there do the covering letter needed - this is for the job i'm not sure about for various reasons so if its not there i'm not going to worry (it seems to crop up every few months) . Ring at least 1 recruitment agency and see if i can go in for a meeting so they know what i'm looking for! AND chase up missing voucher and cashback !! Going to breathe and mooch on here a minute and then get my head down and get on with it!

Has anyone else had a nice weekend? Would love to hear what everyone's been up to :D

  • I hope the TMA is progressing well.

I'm embarrasssed to say I have done virtually nothing this weekend. I just CBA. I know the weather is lousy everywhere but I think it is relatively bad here and so it is difficult to venture anywhere because the snow fell on black ice on the pavements. And sitting around in the flat doesn't do me any good really.

Running is out of the question at the moment. I was thinking of joining a gym just for a month to try to maintain some fitness. I put it off yesterday. Now it has been snowing for a couple of hours and I don't fancy getting soaked going to the gym.

The only good thing about not doing much is that it is cheap! I am eating up stuff from the fridge and freezer and found I had some good stuff in there.

I really need to cut back on the junk I eat. I am always saying this and rarely doing much about it. One motivator is the TV programmes with people who are very overweight and need to cut back. I watch these shows and, probably like most of the viewers, think JUST STOP EATING SO MUCH. But, you know what? I am not eating much differently to them. I eat a pretty good diet in terms of meals but then eat a lot of snacks. Due to various health problems, my body works so inefficiently that I can eat a lot and maintain a "normal" weight. But I had an appointment with the nurse on Thursday and she politely said I am the right weight now. I have put a lot of weight on recently so the message is that I should cut back to maintain my current weight. So that is my goal. And the weigh in will be in 3 months time.

You have inspired me to sort some things out for the charity shop. I have a good pair of boots that I am sure would be useful to someone (too small for me) and a lot of pairs of winter trousers that I don't seem to wear. I'll try them on and see why!

Hi all, I'm having a brief break whilst trying to rein in my rising panic!!! I have 1) highlighted all the bits of the question that are important and 2) chosen the focus of the answer so i have done something at least :o Just doesn't feel like its nearly enough :o In a mo. i am going to get up and lift all of my footwear out - i need the complete distraction of being away from the computer screen and to clear my head a bit.

Chocs - sorry to hear you can't get out to exercise at the mo. I am panicing about the walk to the station (and eventually back) again tomorrow due to the treacherously icy conditions  I wouldn't worry about having a relaxed weekend - these are sometimes very much needed!

I have to make alot of progress this year on alot of fronts - the resurrection of project declutter is essential an example of this is that i cannot fit all my shoes in my wardrobe and have no other shoe storage so they are dotted around in every room adding to the general chaos of things :o

Food / diet is one of the things i need to address this year too - i eat alot of food because its cheap and filling rather than the healthy and invariably expensive version :o I think i've not done too bad since the start of the year eating at work - i have my lunch there and then at home i'll have my tea (but this is usually at 11 at night  - a new job would help massively with this) I tend to snack / graze at the weekend and only in the evenings whilst watching a film - its become a habit i suppose and there is alot of choccys left after xmas still so i don't think i'll address this too soon :o

I'm sorry to hear about your health problems - i know mine are only small niggles really although they do have a big impact on me - hope you're ok though xx

I do give to the charity shops too - i perhaps don't make that clear on here - i have a little system of a) bay of e (if suitable) b) carboot if not (e.g too bulky so postge not worth it or worth less than £1) c) charity after carbooty. Haha about trying on the trousers - though if you've had to gain weight then that is for your health - lets see how much we can both declutter! I'm only focusing on footwear today mind :)
