If you have broadband most websites are quick.

This is something several insurers asked me this year. Is the vehicle in a pound now. The insurance cannot be used to retrieve a vehicle from the pound.

I wonder if they got fed up of people taking out a days insurance and then cancelling after retrieving their cars.

It's that plus the chances are the driver will not disclose the pending IN10 and if you add in Insurers are not to keen on people who drive without Insurance

I forgot about the possible chance of an IN10 or a pending conviction also.

They made it quite clear when getting quotes though. That i would not be covered.

  • ( As someone in this thread gave the link of insurencechoice and i tried to QOUTE it but as a new user, its not allowing me to copy or put a website link )

Almost same situation with me as well, just to summarize its me who needs impounded car insurance and i have googled it so InsurenceChoice.Co.Uk comes with a few other top companies. They have agreed to provide 30 day impounded car insurance to me BUT BUT BUT --->>>
--->> THEY ONLY ACCEPT PAYMENT METHOD AS " ONLINE TRANSFER TO THEIR COMPANIES ACCOUNT " , So they are STRICTLY not accepting Debit Card Payments and Credit Card Payments. I have asked this question on another very famous forum as well and been replied by around 6 members and all of them BRAND THIS METHOD AS SPAM and very Suspicious (Even though the agent of InsurenceChoice says that he will give the sort code and account number of Insurence Choice company which can be verified by the bank when i make transfer )...
---->My quick inquiry is that if this is a Normal Method of payment to these companies, is it secure and will i have any proof of payment etc etc
Your contribution towards my inquiry will be deemed as heavenly blessing as in my situation its really hard to imagine what the stress is like !!! Regards.

They don't want any chargebacks etc after the car has been released.

They have probably had bad experiences with cards in the past. By definition the majority of drivers who have a car impounded are dodgy so who can blame them really?

If someone is driving the car legally under the 'driving other vehicles' section of their own policy this can be verified at the time of the stop.

All uninsured cars should be crushed IMO.

Even if it isn't the driver's own vehicle, and the owner of the vehicle had no suspicion that it was being used without insurance?

B'sides, wouldn't that just massively vary the penalty applied to two drivers without taking any account of the circumstances of the offences?

Somebody driving £250 shed with full knowledge of being uninsured - minor penalty.
Somebody driving £40,000 car uninsured through technicality - major penalty.

Obviously things are different if the car is TWOC'd, which is the only time that could happen with no blame attached to the owner.

In the second case anyone stupid enough to drive a £40k car without insurance deserves anything they get.
