    Hi everyone

I've been reading your thread and the lists are a great idea I managed to get everything I wanted to do done yesterday I'm forever putting things off and letting things get on top of me.

I've finally got my hands on the CBT book the doc suggested I looked at last August. Popped in the library on my way home from work first time in years I've been there but wasn't prepared to pay £20 to buy online.

Only a few things left on today's list. Recycling will have to wait for another day not going back out in this weather.

Stepping really helps I managed a full night sleep last night. Hope it wasn't a one off.

  • Hi everyone,

Well, working two jobs may help with money but I'm quickly finding that it tires me out no end!! 5 hours sleep is not enough for me :( you're right though, when I feel like I'm being positive about sorting out my debts I do sleep better, Sunday I managed about 10 hours. Could just to with squeezing in a couple of hours more every night but haven't managed it so far what with making my lunches for work too. And come next week I WILL start running again (she says positively!)

Anyhow today I am away for a few days, thankfully OH is paying (or more precisely Southern Electric are, after a massive bill refund!) - going to try to relax and enjoy myself without worrying about what letters are waiting for me when I get back, easier said than done..... Also will try not to think about the state of my bank balance, as that panics me too. The CBT book might be useful for me too!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend with lots of positive steps :) xx
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j

    Morning

Could do with going back to bed but have to go to work:(

The CBT book is by Dr Chris Williams, there's a website which has online courses based on the book. It's called livinglifetothefull http://www.llttf.com/index.php the book I'm reading is overcoming anxiety, stress and panic attacks.

Ah ha, living life to the full course is really good :) not read the book though, might have to check out my local library for that one too - thanks Scarlet!

Ruby i really hope you can have a relaxing break. I know its not easy to not think about letters etc but if you find your mind drifting to those topics try this: acknowledge you are worrying. Then ask yourself if there is anything you can do about it right now? (chances are no as you are just imagining there might be letters) Then remind yourself IF there are letters when you get home you WILL be able to deal with them, and anyway there might not even be any letters at all. Then give yourself permission to put those thoughts aside and focus on your break as you will be better able to deal with things when you have had a break from them. Then deliberately focus your mind on something around you - if you are somewhere pretty pay attention to the flowers, or landscapes etc, think about what you want to do today etc etc

It sounds very bizarre but this is a technique i have learned when thoughts going round my head when i'm trying to sleep and it seems to work. You might need to do it a few times in a row at first and you need to do it everytime your thoughts drift but it will teach you to have control over your thought patterns if you do it often enough. I call it thought catching (cos i catch them and set them aside :) )

Okies so today then i have a few things i want to do:

Post an ebay sale - done :)
lodge money into account - done :)
go for a walk or bike ride
check forecast for tomorrow and sunday - done :)
    sort car boot stuff
pack car if forecast ok - done :)
list another 3 items on ebay
look at finance options for all the money i have to pay out this week - done :)

right thats me for now, away to get stuck in :)

    Happy Stepping all xxxx
