Source and buy navy jog suit for DS2 - starts nursery on the 8/01/2013 and i have red polo's but not navy joggers or jumper aged 3-4 (If anyone has any idea - I'd like them to match)
/QUOTE]
Try Sains/Tesco/asda....they usually have these in with the uniform bits and won't be too expensive - this is where I head to first when I need to buy cheap/warm bits for school trips or cub camps!!
I'd like to join the thread too please!!! I love trying to be organised - must be the teacher in me! Sad but true, I have had the Organised Mum products mentioned already, but this year have gone for a Mum's Office diary.......I used to be a filiofax girl, but found I didn't use much of it. I think part of the trouble is duplicating stuff/info.....so the Pocket Diary (from Organised Mum) didn't work for me as I didn't want to have my meal plans in a diary when I'd already written them on the fridge and so on.
SO, I have the meal planner & shopping list on the fridge door....I plan the meals then perforate the list to take shopping, leaving the list of meals behind. In theory DH can add things to the list as they run out too.....at least, that's the idea!! Then on the wall I have a calendar which has everything on, I have an address book (which means I don't want/need a diary with a big section for adresses in) and then I have diary.
I also have an Organised Mum Notes and Lists book (they don't do them anymore but I got a couple from ebay) in one of their diary covers, and I made up my own household organiser.....I have sections for planning (to do lists), budget, birthdays/xmas and kids activities. I have enough spare pages to keep me going for years, and it means in theory I have everything in one place......
By the front door I have a whiteboard/corkboard which has the children's 'must remember' info for each day.....library book day/music lesson/guided reading book/rugby kit....so each morning they have to check to see what has to go to school with them. Under that on the floor is a basket for school shoes ONLY so they can find them! In theory (can you see a pattern here!!!) This system has helped alot now all three are at school. Next to this on the radiator cover is a basket for all the letters/books to go in so again, in theory, we know where the library books etc are when they need to take them back to school.
One thing I find helpful is to put forms/money etc into envelopes to return (Brownies subs for example) and in the top left corner I write the child's initial and where it's for - eg E -Brownies - and highlight it so it stands out. This then goes in the basket by the door so that before they go out they check and can easily spot any letters/dinner money or whatever to go with them.
Right, enough waffling. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas. My goals for next year are......get our spending down and save more into 'pots' so that we don't get caught out, lose some more weight (I got a stone off this year and want to lose another stone, maybe stone and a half), and maybe get into a cleaning routine too.....it's MUCH easier to keep things up together now they all at school, but I could do with being a bit more organised about the housework!!
Here's to a Happy and Organised New Year!!

Those Organised Mum diaries.......the first 1 i had came from The Works about the end of January.
I paid a fiver for it
I wasn't convinced it would work see:o
IIRC...there was a thread on Grabbit about them being in there for £5.
I got mine from the works last year too half price- not sure I even had to wait til the end of Jan for it to be marked down. Am keeping an eye out already in my local branches0 -
rae18 - I only have one in school! I have no idea how you cope with 3! With school, beavers, swimming and football were busy pretty much everyday!
This sounds really finiky but i would have liked the navy joggers to match the jumper. As there are so many shades but i've bitten the bullet and bought some from Asda! Jumpers £2 and £3 joggers lets hope there the same colour.
Off for coffee in the morning with my bestie and the kids so i will need to get clothes ready tonight.
I think i also got my last organised mum diary in the works. Last January for about £5DFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!
Dont cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I love the sound of this, can I join you.
I have two DD's age 8 and 5, I work 4 days a week plus run a little business from home.
Friday is my day off, so I drop the girls off to school, come home and run round trying to clean until I collect them at 1:30 (early finish or them on a Friday)
My aims for 2013 are to be more organised with food etc, too often I don't think about dinner until I get home. eBay/car boot all the stuff we don't need, like old toys and clothes. Keep on top of the housework. I also want to be careful with my present buying, I am quite good but want to do better this year.0 -
Hello everyone, I am in too
I try every year, but I do seem to be getting better...really!
I got an organised mum diary last year, but after about 3 weeks I couldnt even find it, so sticking to my free diary from work as keeps it all in one place.
I do have one of those birthday card folder things that I find really useful, so I need to try restock for this year. i also have a little storage box with spare cards in (like for kids parties), then another for wrapping paper and gift bags (I tryto reuse gift bags where possible to save rebuying lol) and 1 for odd party bits.
I have made a list for what I need to do for each room before work starts again (7th) and a chaotic life starts again!
The kids are at their dads from tomorrow night til monday so I have a lot of job I want to get done by then -
1 - Find homes for the new xmas pressies
2 - Update coupons (from coupon thread - im trying to get a stock of house cleaning stuff) and use to add to stock
3 - Sort out clothes in everyones wardrobes (and give away/charity shop)
4 - refill card folders
5 - try to find some bargains for xmas paper/cards for next year£2 Savers club £0/£150
1p a day £/0 -
Hi everybody, can I join to please?
Also work full time as does OH, both with quite consuming jobs. We have a 4 yo DD who is at nursery FT and has a very busy social calendar!
I need to get more organised with present shopping/giving as well as meal planning (and sticking to)
I have found myself with multiple lists in my hand bag on scraps of paper in order to get everything sorted for christmas. Feel like everything went smoothly in the end without too much stress from me this time! But there has to be a more organised way of managing things?
I can be known to get a bit lazy and after a hard days work I just want to veg on the sofa rather than getting on with jobs. That means things like the ironing start to build up and become "mission impossible"
Hope we can support each other to run nice, orderly, organised family lives!:pStaring point of debt £23,343:mad:

i would love to join in, i am probably the most disorganised/leave it to the last minute person in the world. SAHM mum of 6 with 1 at uni, 4 at school and 1 at nursery. i say every year that i will be organised but it normally lasts a fortnight then i am back to normal running around like a headless chicken. i spend a lot of time doing fundraising events for the kids school so need to start prioritising tasks and making to do lists so i dont' forget anything.
got a huge list of things that need doing around the house but first on the agenda is to clear out the kids clothes, they have far too many and because there are 6 of them i feel sometimes there are clothes everywhere and its all i see.
will be popping in daily for any ideas to help smooth the way through the yearDEBT

Can I join too please. I am so disorganised it is ridiculous. The amount of times I have made emergency dashes to school, can't find reading books or homework diaries, had to get new birth certificates etc as I have no idea where the originals are. I buy cards and presents but rarely send them etc etc.
OH and I work full time and I have 2 children aged 7 and 9 in 2 different schools (7yr old DS in special school). I am 28 weeks pregnant with my third and have to do a serious declutter now as I have nowhere to put this baby! I also have 2 guinea pigs and 2 rabbits and I am in the final year of my law degree (which is going to be fun with a newborn). I need to get organised!
First things first. I need to tackle the hall which has become a dumping ground and I need to wash some clothes for the me and the kids to wear tomorrow. It would be nice to be on top of the washing instead of doing it the night before I need it!

A load a day (at least!!) is the answer! With 3 children (I have 3 too) it builds up so quickly!!! My answer.....sort out a load at night & put it on first thing in the morning/when you get home from work/Uni. If I miss a day it quickly becomes unmanageable:eek:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
