Had to change this week's menu around a bit. Only got 2 duck legs and had a visitor for dinner last night so having the duck legs tonight and had the pie last night. Only one portion left so DH has taken that to work for lunch today. Am going to make a butternut squash and lentil curry instead of the LO pie.

Will post next week's menu later.

    hi everyone

great thread I need to start meal planning to help me budget. So much inspiration and ideas on here thanks all. When do you find it is best to do your plan, how many days before the big shop? I hope to just shop once a week by doing this.

    thanks

I wrote my menu for this week and then had to change it because we didn't have a joint on Sunday. Also we've got some large expenditure this month so will be having more veggie meals.

Yesterday - Pork belly strips, roast pots, veg
Today - Bacon, mushroom & Ale casserole (but will be using pork strip)
Tuesday - Slow cooked beef & root veg
    Wednesday - Mac 'n' cheese
Thursday - Leek, savoy & bacon pasta
Friday - HM Fish & chips
    Saturday - Shepherds Pie

So, with my reduced budget, I have decided that we are going to have to stick to our menu plan and not mess around with it on days that we just dont feel like it, so for this week my menu plan is:

    Me and Himself

Breakfast: egg, turkey rashers and tomato sandwhich with HM bread - Cerial/Porridge

Lunch: HM pea soup with HM bread-Sandwiches

    Dinners:
Monday - Chicken curry with leftover chicken with nd moose pasta
Tuesday - Quorn mince in pasta sauce with veg and moose pasta
Wdnesday - Beef burgers, veg and mash
Thursday - Double egg, sausage and chips
Friday - Quorn Cottage pie with veg and beetroot side
Saturday - Sausage, chips and beans
Sunday - Roast Chicken (leftover chicken from last week, roasties, yorkshire puds, stuffing, 1 sausage each, gravy and veg)

Pudding - if needed jelly and cream

Snacks - Fruit and a french fancy with afternoon tea - leftover HM birthday cake.

Chicken curry is in the slow cooker, so fingers crossed we make it through the week without changing!
