Stuck to the plan and had sausages, mash, sprouts and cauliflower (needed eating up)
We went to the farmshop for the sausages and whilst there (we had a voucher for £5 off a £20 spend) we bought mince and lots more sausages. Once home I made a lasagne and two sausage casseroles. The lasagne is in the freezer and the sausage casseroles will be as soon as they have cooled down.I have enough onions to make a cheese and onion pie so will do that tomorrow, this will go in the freezer.
Really pleased with todays efforts as I am more likely to stick to the meal plan if all I have to do is remember to get it out of the freezer.
I have just about meal planned until the end of the month, looking forward to saving time and money.

Haha thanksI do a big shop at the beginning of the month, so I get all the staples then, and then just get fresh bits each week. Works out easier for me because that way I only have to carry home a small amount of shopping on the bus with the kids in tow

I'm really enjoying this meal planning! It's great not to have to think about what I'm going to be eating every day, it's tiresome. This way I just eat what's on the meal plan and I've got into the habit of taking stuff out of the freezer for the following day so it's all defrosted and ready to go.
I was getting tired of constantly thinking about what to eat and ended up living on scrambled eggs. I love cooking but cooking for one can be tiresome but at least the leftovers (if there are any) are useful for taking to work for lunch the next day. It's also timesaving because spending ages staring at what's in the freezer and then resorting to scramble eggs in the end is a time waster and annoying! Good thing I love eggs lol!
I'm really chuffed with myself for sticking to it, thanks to you guys I've got some serious motivation, long may it last. Thank you :T:D

goodness me - that's a super organised list you have Cazzie.
I changed again because my brother is still here, but I didn't have to buy anything special, just took a bit of mince out of the freezer and did a big pot of chili. I made the flour tortillas, and chopped up a bit of veg for 'salad' and everyone was happy.
tomorrow we are going out to an boy scout thing and there should be food there so I'll have an evening off. We should be OK for the weekend - everyhting is in the freezer or fridge that I need fresh and then there's my full to bursting store cupboard!Trying to keep in budget.

Well the plan started on Jan 1st, even if I didn't get round to posting. Had to pop to A!di this evening for a couple of bits for tonight/tomorrow so extended the plan till next weekend. Trouble is, its written on the bottom of my shopping list which is out in the car. Anyway, I'm gonna try to post from memory so here goes...
T 1st - HM pizza
W 2nd - SC morrocan lamb
T 3rd - HM chicken curry
F 4th - Burger & chips
S 5th - quiche (this is where it could go wrong. Often don't fancy making quiche when its planned but also shopping with my ma so she might treat us anyway!)
S 6th - roast chicken
M 7th - bubble&squeak & LO chicken
T 8th - chicken & mushroom pie (hopefully with LO chicken but there also a couple of breasts in the freezer due for using up if the chicken isn't that rubber with sandwiches too)
W 9th - sausage, egg, chips & beans (OH's favourite!)
T 10th - lasagne
F 11th - pizza
S 12th - I have to go to a family do but OH is staying home so hoping to persuade him to have "freezer surprise" to help make a bit of space. Have now got masking tape and pencil in the drawer with the empty plastic pots so no more shoving stuff in the freezer unlabelled!
Will be buying some sort of joint for a roast on the 13th, and bubble&squeak is usual on Mondays following the Sunday roast so we're actually all planned up until the 14th. Not sure that we have enough fresh stuff in to last for the full plan but we have a good selection of veg at the moment so I'm sure it will all be used before I need to buy more, and none wasted.
Just need to make sure that I stick to the plan for the rest of the week (& next week, seeing as its planned already!)0
