    Hi Carpow

I have just started a case against the FTB but my claim is for about £9000 which they have declined to pay. If i want to go to court can i go through the Small Claims Court or do i have to go through the Full Court.

Maybe the Ombudsman would be a better shot

    What do you think?

    £720 & %

I filed online on 12th June But had a few problems regarding the banks address, I responded to all their queries and I think the problem has now been resolved and they accepted the Belfast Branch address. But I dont know what the hold up is now. I have spoken via phone to the court and their is never anyone around to advise me?? On my online account for NI courts I last recieved correspondense on 5th July all it says is "Small claims packs"
DOES this mean they have forwarded this to me as I have not recieved it??? also it states that my Return Date is 8th aug 07 (for what??) When do the A&L have the papers served from the courts? Do you think they will have these by now? As I was thinking of phoning and entering into negoiations once they recieve court hearing:beer:

    Thanks

Is this a straight forward matter or is there more to consider before completing online?

Anyone dealt with Cahoot/Abbey before?

This is a pretty straight forward case they did offer me a miserable settlement of £175 in full & final settlement but I Declined.
Aha I spoke with a very helpful lady & gentleman at the court office today and they helped me too switch on the light. :) The papers have been served & the rotten stinkers in A&L have until the 8th Aug. to defend. (Heres hoping they don't).
    Thee end is near....
Although I do have 2 more claims to deal with, but due to everyones helpful advice I am going to be a lot more clued up than I was 6 mths ago, Im thinking of studying law now after all this DIY education lol.
    Cheers

    Hi Nelliebag
What do you think the banks will do to the claims to which they made an offer but have not paid them out yet after the OFT statement?
  • Hi Nelliebag
Got my cheque from the Northern this morning for the amount I requested and have the right to claim again because I altered the acceptance notice.
  • Hi Nelly this is my first use of this site as a new member but I sent off my copy statements with a letter saying how much I was owed on the 10th July to the Ulster Bank but had not received anything back so I contacted my Branch this morning and they said all claims were being frozen until further notice just thought I would let everyone know incase anyone else is desperately waiting to hear from the Ulster Bank.

  • I was at Belfast small claims court this morning against the A&L and settled out of court for 90% of what we had asked for. :j

We then went into the magistrate's chamber to agree the settlement with him and he advised that as of the next couple of days he is placing a stay on all cases in Belfast against the Banks until February 2008. It appears we got it sorted in the nick of time!!:rotfl:
