that seems a bit harsh. Maybe she really didn't receive it, the Royal Mail are hardly saints when it comes to not losing parcels!
You only have to look at the prosecutions that have taken place when postmen are found to have either thrown away sackfuls to save delivering them or taken them for themselves
I've genuinely had things go astray never to be found again twice this year (sending to family BTW so hardly going to lie about it!)
My OH was a postman for over 30 years. There was only one postman he worked with over that time who stole a load of post ( including birthday cards belonging to colleaugues ). He got caught sent to prison, lost his pension and his job. My husband will not even speak to him now as he says that is the one thing a postman should not do is steal the post. I think the nearly all postman are honest and value their job. We actually have one of the best postal services in the world if only the Government would stop interfering with it.
I do selling on EBay and the only parcels I ever have problems with is ones sent abroad. I use International Signed For and lost 4 parcels out of a total of 26 sent in one month and they were all tracked till they left the UK.
You can still claim up to £46.00 from Royal Mail for lost parcels. All you need is a certificate of posting. I only send items worth over £50.00 by tracked mail and use 1st class with certificate of posting for all others.
Best of luck sorting it out0 -

Thinking of 4 of these . A total of £12. Use £3 off dairy voucher and £4 on PP compared against A?
Four blocks for a fiver
Last day tomorrow for the dairy voucher and cheese stocks are getting low
Or does anyone have a better idea:)
I have also been getting the Lake District Cheese which is currently B1G1F at T
http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/#/Shopping/FindProducts.aspx?Query=lake
The mature variety is £3.99 a pack so
£3.99 x 2 = £7.98
- £3.00 T dairy coupon = £4.98 for 4 blocks of cheese
The Lake District mild variety is £3.49 per pack
So works out even better at £3.98 for 4 blocks of cheese
