From looking at it and previous tenancies, I would say that is more a condensation issue than a leak one. If your landlord won't do anything about it and your health is being affected you can go to environmental health about it, my ex had to go to the council about a similar issue many moons ago.

Do you use an extractor fan when you're cooking & boiling water?

Well OH has annoyed me a little, he just said implied I'm being controlling :( All I did was hide the chocolate fingers!!! If I didn't he would have eaten them, and they're not even open he just saw them and thought "oooh see food, eat food". So I told him that I've hidden them and he can have them in his lunchbox. Am I being too controlling??? He already ate all the olive slices I made so he hasn't got one for tomorrow!!! He didn't even know what he was going to take to uni tomorrow as he'd eaten all the leftovers and didn't think to make enough of tonights dinner to take tomorrow....so I made him some lemon rice with steamed broccoli and sweetcorn. However, that was before the implication of me being controlling, so now I feel a right mug and under appreciated! Hrumph!!! MEN!

Although, have just done yoga DVD so feeling very relaxed, night all :)

yes, the extractor fan is on / window is always open when cooking. this wall is the one near the back door however and the backdoor is leaking like mad - it's rotten. the top end of the kitchen where the cooker etc is fine it's just the extension bit where the water leak was that is all damp and mouldy :)

i'm thinking of borrowing mum's dehumidifer to see if it hleps. i might add we are NOT allowed to paint it. we asked in october when the water leak first happened cos there were signs of damp / mould then, we were told to leave it and LL would fix it 'in the spring'.

can't believe it's still 2 weeks til pay day :(

having my hair cut tomorrow. keep dipping it in my soup, tea, etc so it needs chopping :D

does anyone else feel a bit miserable now the cold has really hit back and thees snow on the way?
  • Happy Birthday spagbol & princesslou have a nice day!

I have had another good spend day - i lost my gym card, and went to get a new one (£5), but when i went, it was the guy who had signed me up behind the desk, and he said he'd waive the fee 'just this once'. £5 saving! Woo!

Also really fancied a bottle of vino, but decided I'd rather save the money, and came straight home instead!

There's a zumbathon tomorrow night, I'm trying to build myself up to go!

I think everyone is feeling a bit blue just now. Do you think we all have seasonal affective?? I'm feeling a bit better after a swim tonight. I don't mind having an excuse to stay in and do nothing this weekend though. And if it snow, I won't be taking the car anywhere either, so savings all round!

DH had another £1k PPI pay out today but I need to do some number crunching to work out my new total as we have dipped into the savings pot to pay for some curtain alterations.

What we need to do is have an instant access pot and another pot for the money that is to pay off the beast and not be touched. I will look again to setting up a limited access ISa in DH name over the Internet.

I have also cancelled movies and sport on Skye and changed my phone package as DMIL has been running up over £35 calls in the last couple of months on our phone when she looks after DS. I haven't a clue who she calls:eek: This is saving us £20 month and will be going in to the savings pot.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75
  • Not really sure how I feel about snow over the weekend - on one hand I wasn't really planning on going out (was thinking about an early morning cinema trip but will happily have a lie-in instead!) but if it's freezing we'll just be sat round with the heating on eating stodgy food so I dunno :/

I for one would be happy to be snowed in my house, cooking and decorating the place!

I have made another token payment of £3.03 in order to bring my total repayment to £783.30 - 21% of target

Rogueylawyer, I'm with you on the snow. Would love to be snowed in. Plan to do some cooking tomorrow, get meals frozen for next week. Doubt we'll get much snow really though.

Paid £100 off the CC tonight, not sure what date my monthly statement comes out so not sure whether it will have been knocked off my bill when it arrives. Still money left in my account too and only 1 week to payday :) Will officially update my total when the CC bill comes.
