  • Happy weekend all!

Finally sorted my passport application this morning so that's another £84.25 to get that sorted out - am pretty annoyed honestly as I only got my last one in Feb 2012 - bloody wedding has cost me a small fortune! :rotfl:

Done the shopping list and am hopefully going to Morrisons this aft if my sister ever finishes whatever she's fannying about doing at home! Checked the cupboards and freezer and should be a *fairly* cheap shop - which is handy as my budget has been well and truly blown after an AWFUL week back at work :(

Free listings on ebay this weekend if anyone has stuff to clear out! :D

:j BF has paid off his NW overdraft :j that brings our total to £249 paid out of £4,400!

Just checked my bank - I've just renewed our tenancy at the house, reported the damp and the blocked drain, and also had my haircut, and our Virgin payment came out today. When my loan and HP payments come out on Tuesday I will only have £125 left until payday on the 25th - eek. Luckily OH got paid from his second job on Friday and we've got plenty of food, will just need petrol and electric...

oops, just reported my post for spam by accident! :P

I've had an email this morning alerting me to a change that was made to my credit file, nothing major.

Now looking at my credit file got me thinking. I know it was my own fault running up debt and then struggling to pay it off thus incurring charges and defaults etc. But it's really unfair that defaults last for 6 years isn't it?

I mean I will NEVER run up serious debt again but I suppose it's a deterrent for those who will never be good with money but a hindrance to those who have changed their ways. Just a mini rant :)

what do you use to keep checks on your credit file? :)

I use equif*x. A few years back I opened a cap1 card & the alert service came free. I've long since used the 0% BT, paid off and closed, but the freebie seems to be forever. I'll miss it when they realise :o:o

Hi everyone, I received our first bill from our new energy supplier yesterday morning and I'm still trying to digest it! I don't know how we've managed it but we've used nearly double the amount of gas that we used this time last year! Which means since we switched over at the end of November til the end of December we've used a whopping £100 of gas . Luckily our electricity was only £60, so we've cut down on that, but had to readjust the thermostat and timer yesterday as there's no way we're paying that every month (rekon the heating must have been coming on during the night without us realising :o) - especially as it hasn't even been that cold lately. Told hubby we'll just have to wear thicker jumpers! All I can say is thank God we switched and fixed otherwise it would have cost us a lot more!

    I've had a really good day :D

Firstly I sold my pram :D:D I've been trying to sell it for a little while after finally accepting that there will be no more babies. A lovely couple picked it up today & paid £30. not much for a whole travel system, but its something. And my spare room is so much clearer.

Secondly I've not spent any money. Normally I'd pop into town & end up spending on *ahem* essentials:o, but DD is a bit under the weather and so we stayed in.

Thirdly, I've closed some old accounts this week and the balances were over £100! I have paid this off my debt straight away.:D

Lastly, I have drawn NO money at all from our joint account this month so far. Only 2 weeks til pay day & I still have Xmas gift cash and now the pram money to tide us over. I am hoping to halve the OD by pay day.:)

My DD for our CC has also come out so my new figures are:

    #18 Ruthy1604 £1680.86/5160.38 32.57%

I feel a bit of a fraud, as I included a cc in my debt that I already had the money to pay, but I wanted a boost for January ;)

  • Hi Peops,

I'm broke and it's not half way through Jan yet!
I have now paid all dues though, done a fairly big shop and filled up with petrol so I hope I can now hobble through the rest of the month with what I have left in my purse.
Don't tell anyone but I also have a few boxes of chocs left from xmas so no danger of starving to death! :rotfl:

New total is: no. 74 £400/7860
    Thank you......

13 days until pay day and COUNTING!!!

Two loan payments to go out on Monday or Tuesday - that will take the balance up to £445 out of £4400 - slowly but surely.

Pay day makes me feel like I'm "getting there" :)
