Am paying for checkmyfile again for a couple of months while everything sorts itself out from the move, it's actually really helpful in enabling me to see where I need to change addresses.
Next year = more debt busting. I have a sofa and some OU fees to pay off, and the final car payment to save for...0 -

I can almost smell/hear/see Christmas around the corner...and I'm super excited- 1) Not feeling stressed about presents (I am already starting to make mine), 2) Not worrying about money and the January Financial Blues. It will be a surreal experience to enter the new year with...money! :T:coffee:

My last housemate was from Rome, we said we were thinking of going this year, but he told us we would find it too hot in the summer - best time to go is around now or in May. I don't think it's possible to do Rome cheaply though, that's why we wound up going to Lisbon instead. We could have afforded 3 nights in Rome, or 7 nights in Lisbon.
If you don't mind flying Ryanair, it's a bit cheaper, but I really don't trust them!0 -

Thanks!! We've decided we're going to wait and have a look at the last minute deals closer to the new year, see if we can't bag ourselves a hol somewhere for my birthday. If not then will prob have a look again in the new year  May would be possible though! I only opted for June because it would be a good 'congratulations on finishing your degree' present :rotfl:0 -
Right, I have assessed my finances this month. Looking at the money I have left, I have transferred my usual Emergency Fund, put aside £20 for Christmas gifts, and that leaves me with £100 for my savings. Not bad for a Holiday month!
That gives me #141 £1675/3420 = 51.54%
It's good to have broken the halfway mark, I definitely won't be meeting my target for Christmas though!0 -

Hi all, I've been awoa but back now.
Amr I've been to Venice it's fab. We got ripped off by a private water taxi as soon as we arrived because we were staying on the island; that was a bit of a downer but as there were 10 of us we split the cost. If you need one look for the public boarding places they look like bus stops.
We went on a gondola at 11.45pm, the last one of the night and it was beautiful; no-one else on the canals, it was serene and could have been romantic too if the couple with us weren't singing "just one cornetto"!
It's the only place I can honestly say I loved every single shoe in one shop but couldn't afford any of them! (and I've got Jimmy C's and Gina's)Eating out wasn't expensive though.
If I'm needed to help with the thread during Spagbol's confinement (Oo er) I'm up for it although I've come to the conclusion that I take it all much more seriously than you lot - I always look at the first page and not only that I've looked at last years thread to see how many made it to 100% even though I wasn't part of it! Too competitive by half really, but it helped me to get debt free.
Well, this month has ended with £35 in my purse, £42 in my bank account and a half a tank of fuel. Hurry up ladies and gents, life is good when it's not all about re-paying. I could make this last another fortnight and you know what? I might do that just because I can!0
