kerri that's really interesting about the toothpaste! Just a quick pointer though - they don't add fluoride to water in the UK (they do in some other countries) Fluoride is toxic to children in high doses (which is why they should not eat toothpaste!) Our water supply doesn't risk it, while some other countries argue that the small quantities will do no harm.
Spag i'm happy to help with the spreadsheet. I'm job hunting just now, and I'm just aware I might wind up moving to a house with no internet access for a few weeks! But I'm just thinking - do you have drop box? We could create a shared folder and that way a few people can access it and keep it up to date, then you could do the front page update without us having to email it to you?0 -

Ok actually I take it back - they do add fluoride to the water in parts of England! I did a module on water treatment at uni, and we were told they don't add fluoride to the water there, which I think my brain remembered as 'UK' not 'Scotland'0 -
I've just licked the olive oil soap, it doesn't taste bad at allDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Right, so I've so far sold bras on fleabay, shouted at my OH when he uses too much loo roll, bought 96 loo rolls once in L1dl because they were on offer...and tried the no shampoo hair regime (I failed that one although I only use a cleansing shampoo now which is much cheaper and wash my hair every 3-4 days)....are you all ready for my latest craze.....
Since Sunday evening I have stopped using toothpaste. I've been trying to cut down on the amount of artificial chemicals we use in this house anyway. But when I was having heart palpitations on Sunday and couldn't sleep I suddenly thought to myself "why have I never questioned it?" So I started looking on the internet and it turns out the glycerin in our toothpaste forms a layer on your teeth that stops the teeth remineralizing (repairing the enamel). The flouride in our toothpaste is overkill as we have it in our drinking supply. It also turns out that brushing along with flossing is pretty much all you need. So I've been using just water for 3 days, my really terrible bleeding gums (sorry TMI but it's gotten really bad whilst pregnant) have all but gone and my teeth are dentist clean. I'm amazed. I've just gone to the health shop and bought a bar of pure olive oil soap (meant to help with bacteria) and on Sundays I'm going to use some baking powder on my brush for whitening. I shall report back on my crazinessbut so far so good
We don't have fluoride added here so just make sure about your area, our children are advised to have adult toothpaste (>1000ppm) for this reason so baby toothpastes are aimed at babies in other areas! Also bleeding gums are a total pain in pregnancy, have you taken advantage of your free dentistry yet?minicooper272 wrote: »kerri that's really interesting about the toothpaste! It's really good - you download it and it just appears like a normal folder on your computer, but you can create sub-folders which you can share with others. If you share it, I can't access your main folder, just the sub-folder. It just means there is only one version of the spreadsheet, that you could access at any time without having to ask for it.0 -

hello from my new, warm home!!!
Yay :T glad it's warm for you, hope moving went well! How on earth do you have internet so quickly?!?
spag I'm happy to help - like I say my only concern is that I might move at some point and be without internet, but if they happens, we can just share the dropbox folder with someone else for a few weeks.0
