    allllmost there.

just contacted my current contents insurance provider to see how much itll cost to change over to my new property. if its too much might just cancel and go elsewhere!
  • lol I know what to cut down on its just having the discipline to do it.

daughters birthday next week. and then its Christmas shopping. list coming out of my ears already x
  • :( I've been trying to spread the cost of Christmas this year, so I've been buying bits throughout the year to help with making my own toiletries as gifts. I've now got all the ingredients, and the only thing left to buy was tubs to put the moisturisers in, and then my friends announced that they want to do secret santa this year! One of my friends is very low on funds and asked to be left out of Christmas to save some cash, so while we're all happy to give and not receive, they suggested secret santa so she wouldn't feel awkward.

I'm 100% sympathetic to it, have been there myself, but that'll teach me to try and be organised :rotfl: I've said to them they might all receive a little gift from me and then I'll also do my secret santa.

just the last things to do now, shed and bed mostly then shove everything we use daily in a box on wednesday... eeek its so close now.

savings are low BUT cos my house savings account is 40 days notice i do still have £600 in the savings! lol. just gonna be very very tight until payday.

next year my focus will be saving money, paying of our sofas early and maybe saving to pay my HP off a year early too :)
  • It's all quiet around here. Where is everyone? Are the bumps getting too big?

Bump is indeed getting very big! I have a growth scan on Friday so we shall see if the little blighter is growing a bit too much

I am starting to struggle with getting everything done I'm afraid, I have brought my maternity leave forward at work so have 3.5 weeks left :j but with the children, school etc and housework I am finding it a struggle to get on here...can we have some discussion about maternity leave on here please :A

We can either just let the thread run with individual updates but no main page (that's pretty much what is happening anyway :o) or I can email the spreadsheet to somebody and they can keep updating monthly totals etc. The front page will have to stay unedited unless we lock down this thread and the new person starts another but then people might not find their way over.

I will go with consensus, let me know what you would all rather do!

I'm still here, reading and maybe not posting so much as I'm trying to do flylady and keep focused on not spending so much. I should pay off my V4nquis card this month fingers and toes crossed but we'll see :)

spagbol - I have no idea what you should do, I very rarely look at the front page if ever. I know we're all working towards our own goals but I don't necessary need to see what everyones goals are. I do like to see when people have reached their goals though as it gives me an extra kick up the derrier to do the same :) but again I don't get that from the front page.

Kerri I am exactly the same, I know last year the front page updates slipped but it didn't bother me at all! Perhaps then we can all keep updating our totals and one of the spreadsheet-stats-addicts (you know who you are :D) can keep our spreadsheet up to date (I will email it across!) and they can do the monthly totals? Perhaps email me a monthly update to put on the front page I'm sure I can cope with that!

    Any offers? <smiles sweetly>

Right, so I've so far sold bras on fleabay, shouted at my OH when he uses too much loo roll, bought 96 loo rolls once in L1dl because they were on offer...and tried the no shampoo hair regime (I failed that one although I only use a cleansing shampoo now which is much cheaper and wash my hair every 3-4 days)....are you all ready for my latest craze.....

Since Sunday evening I have stopped using toothpaste. I've been trying to cut down on the amount of artificial chemicals we use in this house anyway. But when I was having heart palpitations on Sunday and couldn't sleep I suddenly thought to myself "why have I never questioned it?" So I started looking on the internet and it turns out the glycerin in our toothpaste forms a layer on your teeth that stops the teeth remineralizing (repairing the enamel). The flouride in our toothpaste is overkill as we have it in our drinking supply. It also turns out that brushing along with flossing is pretty much all you need. So I've been using just water for 3 days, my really terrible bleeding gums (sorry TMI but it's gotten really bad whilst pregnant) have all but gone and my teeth are dentist clean. I'm amazed. I've just gone to the health shop and bought a bar of pure olive oil soap (meant to help with bacteria) and on Sundays I'm going to use some baking powder on my brush for whitening. I shall report back on my craziness :D but so far so good
