Are they likely to let us pay half the month? Let's face it - we're only having to leave because the LL isn't fulfilling his end of the contract! (Acknowledged by the letter that says we can end it whenever).

It might be worth posting up the exact wording on the lettings forum; you may not have to give any notice, or only as much as suits you, depending upon what the landlord actually wrote.

I'll find the letter this afternoon and see what it says. I think it said I needed to give notice though.

I'm just really cross about it all!

No idea if I'll get my deposit back though!! Anyone know how much new lino costs ? The rabbit chewed a corner of it! (It was just budget type by the looks of it as all rentals seem to have this one :rotfl:) It isn't fixed to the floor though hence why the rabbit was able to grab hold of and chew it!!! Eeek.

Gonna make a second viewing on the first place we saw today butttt I;m having trouble justify the price!

It has the same number of bedrooms and reception rooms, they're all pretty much the same size. But the new property had a very small kitchen compared to our current one and the garden is narrower. It also has an older bathroom. But it does have a combi boiler (albeit old - but it must be better than a back boiler and gas fire, right?) Hmm and it's £65 p/m more than what we currently pay. It's the same road by the way! Do you guys think it is worth paying extra ?? It might be worth mentioning its cheaper to get into this property beause it is a private rental so no application fees (which are about £200).

I would change it myself. Get an offcut from a carpet shop that's been reduced.

That's only £15 per week - if you would save on the bills by having a newer boiler or more efficient heating it would balance out. Don't you have several to look at? Don't jump on the first one, the one for you is waiting for you at the moment, if you open your mind to that possibility, it will bring it closer, try it - it works!

When you say it like that it doesn't seem like a lot! :) Yeah, we're looking at a few this week :) I think this one sounds the most practical.. I do like it but I am just an anxious person :rotfl: even the thought of moving fills me with dread!

We may be able to replace it as it;s only one bit of a square. O/H's sister looks like she has the same kitchen flooring! though to be fair the lino at the top of the kitchen is ruined cos of the water leak and the LL wasn't fussed about it!
