Hi everybody,
I am happy to declare that the final payment has been made to Bank of Mum and Dad.
New stats are:-

Well it's been a slog, starting off at 15000.00 and only managing to pay 700.00 last year due to 8 months unemployment, but I finally got there in the end.
Thank you to everybody who visited this thread last year, and again this year. Even during the quiet times it great to come on here and be reminded that you're not the only one in this boat, and it's great that we can 'virtually' surround ourselves with like-minded people.
Keep at it everyone, it's worth it.
My plan now is to keep the same focus and overpay the mortgage starting in June. Deep breath!

I have some more items ending on ebay this weekend, so hopefully I will be able to make a few more payments over the next few days. I also have a pending payment of £70 on Quidco, so I will pay that off of a debt when the money arrives

It's not really where I want it but stuff has been happening. I have made 2 payments of £500 to my credit card since I last visited but I've had to put stuff on the card. Vets bills for arthritis, wallpaper at one point even petrol for the car.
But on the plus side I got an annual statement from my credit card company which shows I have paid off over £6k in the last 12 months, which is quite an accomplishment in my book.
In other news one reason I haven't posted is that I managed to get a new job at work. The only way to increase your salary at my place is to change jobs. My annual pay rise in March was 0.7% so you can imagine my delight when I got offered the new job with a 10% increase without even asking. However despite being appointed on 1st May they still haven't finished the paperwork, so I won't get any more money until July payday. I'm hoping to use the back pay to make another lump sum reduction. My Debt Free Diary LBM March 2010

just bought new tyres ! goodbye £110
MOT and service on fri, i've budgeted up to £250.
i also spent £35 on two dresses and a pair of jeans yesterday:o can't complain for the price though!!
went mad on the food budget once again... it's always our downfall but nevermind eh!0 -
Did my first ever piece of 'work' on my car today. I changed the wipers all by myself! Obviously I've topped up oil before etc, but I was very impressed when they didn't go flying off afterwards!
I've made my monthly payments today, but getting very worried about my MOT and insurance, which will be due at the end of July. My insurance was bad enough before they did this 'equality' thing, I'm dreading what the new payment will be! I think I might need to take a payment holiday for the next 2 months if I want to have enough money to cover both...
New total is #141 £1325/3250 = 40.77%0
