Hi everybody,
I am happy to declare that the final payment has been made to Bank of Mum and Dad.
New stats are:-
#24 14300 / 14300 = 100%
Well it's been a slog, starting off at 15000.00 and only managing to pay 700.00 last year due to 8 months unemployment, but I finally got there in the end.
Thank you to everybody who visited this thread last year, and again this year. Even during the quiet times it great to come on here and be reminded that you're not the only one in this boat, and it's great that we can 'virtually' surround ourselves with like-minded people.
Keep at it everyone, it's worth it.
My plan now is to keep the same focus and overpay the mortgage starting in June. Deep breath!0 -

Need to sort my budget a little more, but getting there. Need to sort something for christmas, have a few things already but need to fit that into my budget somewhere. I want to pay half off debt my christmas then the rest 6 months afterwards!!
Just happy Ive made a start!!
Huge congrats! :j:j:j I'm also expecting when are you due?32b3in2013 wrote: »Oh no spagbol. But looking for the positive, if you hadn't made some payments previously, the balance transfer fee and the other stuff on the card would have made an increase to your debt, but it hasn't.
hmmm, not sure I am making sense, but I know what I mean xxx
Thanks 32b3 you are right of courseWe still have the DDs to increase our total this month and the ILs have kindly given us £500 as spending money on holiday so we are in a good position for next month

Hi folks. Sorry I'm late! I've only just discovered this thread, but it struck a chord with me.
I've been getting to grips with my debts for the past couple of years, becoming a skilled card tart in the processThis year, I've made an extra effort to try and get all my credit cards paid off by Xmas - although I now think it will be January 2014 (due to unforseen expenses). That's still good though, and just being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel has made me more determined to reach my goal.
It's nice to see so many people with the same aim. Keep at it, guys. We can do this! :cheesy:
Welcome stefthewise  you are #178 get posting!Hi all Not updated for a while but have been lurking. Glad to see some serious debt busting has been going on and congratulations to those who have become debt free since I last posted.I applied for a 0% cc with nationwide and BT £1490 on it until 1/11/2014. I have £715 left on mbna card at 0% until 28/8/13 I am desperate to pay this off before rate runs out as really don't want to do anymore BT EVER!!!! I'm not sure how to pay the nationwide cc debating whether to pay into savings account and effectively stooze money and just pay off when rate pays out or do I pay off before rate runs out then i can be debt free at last. Must think on this one. Anyway my new totals are showing that I'm just half way there.

Well done over 50% :j:j:j:j I think I would pay the card off, it feels really good to overpay and you can reduce the credit limit as you go if you are worried you would be tempted?Hi everybody,
