I am the same, as Kerry says I am better when I use cash or debit card to when I really need to budget I go to Lidl or Aldi. Have you also tried the downshift challenge where you go down one brand level i.e. if you usually buy a brand (heinz etc) then go to shop own brand, if you usually go for that then go shop budget brand. They are all really good!
we normally buy whatever is on offer :rotfl: for example, the brand packs of pasta were on offer for 50p so we bought a few packs (and the value range is like 35p).... i think that's where we go wrong!we bulk stock and perhaps we shouldn't really.
farmfoods is our friend for frozen stuff! i think its mostly our packed lunches that set us back, biscuits, crisps, sandwich meat.... ive strted taking tins of soup or beans to work ha.
the only thing i refuse to downgrade on is bread and meat! nothing worse than stodgy, hard bread or gristly meat.0 -
doing some sums ...... we're not too bad, should have quite a bit of cash left even after buying the car. but it will be a tight month next month.......might pay off the catalogue instead of the sofas, then at least ive got one out of the way (balance is half of that of the sofas!)
ooooh and its so good seeing only £225 left in my loan account! its actually slightly more because of interest, about £250, but it looks so low0 -
We've found we're really good when we work in cash, the moment we switch to card we're terrible. So next month it's back to cash again, thank goodness the OH's dissertation is almost finished and we can really knuckle down again.
I'm going to work on the SEO today, I've googled the site and it is coming up but the descriptions are bad so that means I need to work on the metadata. When I've done that can I ask you all to google me?
Thank youI shall do the metadata today, then drop you a PM if that is ok?
Should be a SFD today, hopefully! Going to fleabay the rest of the box that's in the living room...although how does one send inline skates in the post if they sell?
In a box I think.Or you could skate them to their new owner :rotfl:
I have 2 pairs of inline and one pair of proper roller skates that I forgot I had. Thanks for the tip!!
I stand ready to do some googling when appropriateSPC9 #125 - £816.85
SPC10 #125 - £851.81
SPC 11 #7 - £968.46
SPC 12 #7 - £2682.90
SPC 13 #7 - £4829.85
SPC 17 #7 - £7313.630 -
I've just reconciled the last card statement to add back interest - I'm going to target this card from next month because it's my Tesco one and I like to use it to earn points but I previously did a balance transfer and now when I use it I always pay interest - I've learnt from that now.
So final scores on the doors is: No.74: 1935 / 7860
It's been a bumper month and I've been doing ooodles of overtime so next month should be just as good - fingers x'd

I agree with bread and meat. Pitta breads and englsh muffins are fab however in the economy range (from Mr S and Mr M) and we just eat less meat. We also cook extra (bulk out with veg, lentils etc.) and take for our lunches. We often do a huge batch of chickpea curry or 5 bean chilli from a dried pulses bag and that makes LOADS of lunch and dinner portions for a few pounds.triple_choc_chip wrote: »I've just reconciled the last card statement to add back interest - I'm going to target this card from next month because it's my Tesco one and I like to use it to earn points but I previously did a balance transfer and now when I use it I always pay interest - I've learnt from that now.
