I was gonna suggest margaritas!!
Well this evening has been suprisingly thrifty! It was my OH's birthday a couple of days ago so 6 of us went out for a meal tonight to celebrate and his mum & dad paid so I'm chucking the £30 I'd budgeted for that at my CC as it would have been spent anyway! Also sorted through my wardrobe and have gatered up a few bits of clothing I bought before xmas that I WILL be returning (hopefully tomorrow) which will put another £99.99 back in my account, so I'm paying that off my card tonight as well to force me to actually return the stuff as I HATE returning things, but will need the money now so will have to! :rotfl:0 -
Congrats Suzitiger! :j

my plan today is to pay of my next account which is £70 ish then pay as much as i can afford of cc which could be in the region of £150 ish will post exact figures when done.
looking forward now to get going, need to do e- bay and also have a small idea along the lines of buying and selling to make a few extra pounds all helps. hoping to sell some craft items as well to raise some much needed cash

Hi Guys :wave:
Yaaaaay it's good to be back, the OH and I were in Prague over the festive period so just settling back into the routine. I am also very pleased to announce that we are ENGAGED :happyhear The ol' romantic proposed on Christmas eve!
So....serious debt busting and then wedding saving required!! I am declaring my total to be repaid this year as *£2,854* This doesn't include one CCard but I need to focus on THIS debt the most, and It's do-able this year, I am hoping to exceed and make good in-roads into the other card too but after focusing on this one. I will of course still be making good payments to the one c card
I haven't been on for a while so Thanks to Jemma for the old thread, you did SUCH a good job, thanks to Spagbol for starting this new one, I am happy to help if I can, updates etc. Thanks to everyone else for being here for the chats and also Big CONGRATS are due to Canuksfan I believe for the birth of a bouncing baby boy! (sorry I am so late with my good wishes)
Woo hoo congratulations!! :happylove:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:T:T:T:T:T:TDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -

...DH and I have decided that now we are debt free we will buy one item off the *wish list* every month with money from the bank to get the house sorted
...
This is what we hope to do.I do still have the wish list I wrote 18 months ago, just before OH proposed and changed the game plan somewhat
I think it needs a little updating but generally it's house stuff so still outstanding!
I'm especially keen to get it done now as, as of last night, (and it seems strange telling people this as it's clearly the kind of news you wouldn't yet tell close friends/family) DH and I have decided to start trying for a baby! Even though people always say there's never a "right" time to start a family, being married and settled and (nearly) debt free seems like a pretty good time to us
Who knows what may happen or how long it may take but it's still exciting :cool:
So, now I'm desperate to start making the plans to re-do the bathroom and make-over the garden, and get our home all in order, generally. Being so close to the finishing line in this debt-busting journey is sooo exciting!! :j I can honestly say that I don't think I'll ever be back in this position again - less of the "I want it and I want it *now*" mentality of the world that we seem to live in and more "We need/want it; how quickly can we save up for it"!! :cool:
Welcome migraineboy. Wishing you best of luck for your new job and a better year for clearing those debts:jDebt Free By Xmas 2013 #010 £16,660.26/£16,660.26 100% paid, DFD 25/06/13!:j0
