Right, I've just caught up and what a lot of lovely new people we have here and so pleased to see everyone else as well :)
I'm starting January with a £1 a day payment to my CC, it might only be an extra £31 but I'm GOING to get into the habit of paying it. I'm getting the OH on board as well, we've got a dropbox folder with our household finances in and we've sat down and worked out everything we spend money on, even pc parts and bike bits! it's all in the budget and we're not allowed to spend money unless it's allocated. This is going to be very scary I think but he seems to be totally on board <3

I'm having a NSD today and looking forward to drawing out the weeks budget tomorrow so we can make a start :) I'm off to find some envelopes to write on, yippee x

Ooh and as it's a NSD I've just looked at the CC statement, worked out where my min payment DD will take me too, then worked out how to reduce it by £10 :D so that's my debt down by another £10 yippeee

    #005 £10 / £2606.97 0.38% and I'm off the starting block

Got to the end of the month (well....almost. Planning a NSD tomorrow) and YAAY! I've paid off some of the millstone!

Please could you update me, Spagbol, for a £573 reduction:

    #30 £573/£25816 2.22%

I know this doesn't look much, but it still feels great :-)

That,s a great idea, to enjoy this coming year.

I am going to adopt that as my new year resolution!

I've decided to put all my debt in a virtual box and dump it and its heavy weight on the ground instead of carrying it on my shoulders, and only think of it when I am taking something out of it, as in reducing it.
  • Man, this is torture - I can't sit for 32 days waiting to be paid so I can clear my overdraft. Someone distract me, please?!?

ruby I started my tiramundi 5 years ago, and didn't dare smash it too soon, because it cost so much! It was before I started debt busting, and I put in any money I find on the ground, empty my purse on pay day and save 50p pieces. I have 2 jars though, and can't wait to empty the other one next week! It's not so full though, as some miscreant emptied it while I was at work last year  Not bitter about it any more, honest!

I'm with you on this one, I'm not so patiently waiting for my next pay cheque which will be paid on the 7th January, until then everything is pretty slow. Just quietly working on background stuff, such as meal plans, shopping lists, toiletries lists, household cleaning lists, maintenance on the house lists, oh and did I mention I was making some lists and plans :rotfl:

Love the idea of putting debts into a virtual box, for the time being just kick it under the bed, once the debts have been busted you can chuck it off a virtual cliff :rotfl:
