Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2013

I'm especially keen to get it done now as, as of last night, (and it seems strange telling people this as it's clearly the kind of news you wouldn't yet tell close friends/family) DH and I have decided to start trying for a baby
! Even though people always say there's never a "right" time to start a family, being married and settled and (nearly) debt free seems like a pretty good time to us
Who knows what may happen or how long it may take but it's still exciting
So, now I'm desperate to start making the plans to re-do the bathroom and make-over the garden, and get our home all in order, generally. Being so close to the finishing line in this debt-busting journey is sooo exciting!! :j I can honestly say that I don't think I'll ever be back in this position again - less of the "I want it and I want it *now*" mentality of the world that we seem to live in and more "We need/want it; how quickly can we save up for it"!!
Ah that's lovely Helenpie. I did misread your post though when you said about re-doing the bedroom and garden. Thoughts of outdoor baby making went through my head, sorry:rotfl::D
Congratulations suzitiger:beer::j

This is what we hope to do.
I do still have the wish list I wrote 18 months ago, just before OH proposed and changed the game plan somewhat
I think it needs a little updating but generally it's house stuff so still outstanding!

Has anyone tried this? http://www.cheap-family-recipes.org.uk/index.html
We have a V limited income for the next few months so need to make some serious cut backs. I did really well with the menu planning last year as far as saving money goes so am looking at doing that again but a bit more extreme.
I have ordered some bread flour from Approved Foods, I am not planning on buying ANY bread for the next 6 months. I have a bread maker I bought from the car booty for £3 it paid for itself by the time I had done 3 loaves.:)
I use lots of lentils for soups and curry and do a mean chick pea curry using dried chick peas. It is v ceap, lasts for days and v low fat!DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Hi everyone,
Welcome to the new members & big Congratulations to Suzitiger. Also exciting news for HelenPie - maybe we'll get another DFW baby this year!
I have made a couple of payments and DD's so I'm now at:

Not just off the starting blocks, that's a fantastic payment :Trubywhatashmoo wrote: »Oooh this year is going to be exciting! Even more DF weddings and babies in the pipeline
Right, last payment from me for this year - OH paid his half of the food shopping and is paying for tonight's takeaway that I'd budgeted for, so another £30 gone to the card! Final totals for this year:
#048: £268/£5,400 4.96%
Right, off to finish an episode of Sherlock, unpack the shopping, make a trifle and maybe play some Hobbit Monopoly!See you next year! :rotfl:
Hobbit Monopoly?! Love the sound of this! :rotfl:GingerAngles wrote: »Please sign me up... maybe not debt fre by xmas but...

I would be very intrested in your recipes for pulses etc - I have loads in the cupboard and I'm thinking this could be a great way to eek out the food budget! Especially the chick peasWould you be prepared to share your chick pea curry recipe?
