Going to try and help my parents sort out their budget soon. Sister has declared she's moving out because she doesn't want to pay board.... LOL. She paid £20 a week !! She's moving inwith her friend who lives at their parents. I guess she's expecting they will keep her for free !!!!
But yes, need to help mum and dad out. They will most likely be hit by the bedroom tax and as they don't have anything spare I do worry how they will cope. :S
Just to check, do your parents live in a council house? Do they get full housing benefit at the minute?0 -

Small issue is that my name has changed and they need a certified copy of my marriage certificate. Does anybody know how I get one? Any help would be appreciated
Am looking forward to banking that cheque and boosting my payments this year

Hi, RBS did one for me recently - I don't have a current account with them, just a credit card, as I see you also have.
They don't let you take it from the branch so take in your original document and an addressed, stamped envelope, covering letter etc and they will copy the doc, stamp the copy as certified and post it for you from the branch.
The good thing is the recipient should return it to you and then you can re-use it if you need to change your name with anyone else.
Also I was told later that if you have been with the same bank for both maiden and married names they should let you bank your cheque, maybe worth asking first.0 -

i need to book an opticians appt - i hate choosing glasses and the prospect of spending £100-odd on them doesn't impress me either!0 -
Managed to make a small payment. Got my £5 bank account reward so I used it towards that pesky overdraft.

Also I'm working ALL of bank holiday weekend which is double pay so the following Friday I should be able to pay off my half of the credit card bill.DF by Xmas 2013 #135: £833/£1195 (69.7%)0
