As I was leaving work, I suddenly heard this scraping sound from the front tyre, so I pulled into a space outside to have a look. I saw this cable sticking out of the tyre, and started thinking 'oh heck, this looks expensive!' I tugged a bit, and it was stuck, so I thought I'd go ask the security guard if they knew any thing about cars...
I went in, security guard said he'd come out, he dons his high vis, and the whole way I'm saying 'I just don't know what it can be, but at least it happened here, so I have somewhere to sit if I have to call the AA!'
When we get to the car, he pulls out his torch, shines it on the tyre, and 3 seconds later tells me "it's a twig"! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
In my defence it was a rather large branch, which is why it didn't come out when I pulled, and it was dark!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Thank you. You nearly made me cry. I will go add my number to my signature while I compose myself
Oh bless you! You'll be alright now you're on this thread :TPoor OH, he's doing loads of overtime atm plus the second job.
I am on a salary so can't do much in the way of making extra pennies.
And our neighbours just moved out :-/ hope we get nice new ones!
I hope they are nice ones too!
How about a second job for you, can you do some freelance stuff or work in a pub in the evenings?DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Hi gang!!!
I've been with you all in spirit and reading the threads on my blackberry every morning. But sadly I hardly get time to use my home computer and our work ones have got the forums blocked now .
But I've been checking on my figures and sadly despite making a payment of £500 on the 20th my total has gone up. So now my total figure is £4604.82, this is partly because I am now paying interest on the credit card (I think I've tarted through all the companies now so I'll just have to suck it up and pay) and we did by a few things in the sales. BAD BONGLECAT!!
So the focus is back on. DH is finally back at work and feeling a lot better. But sadly he's back on the dreaded weed again so that's £350 a month on fags again. I got asked to apply for a new job in our European department, which in reality means moving across the bank of desks. But also the possibility of some European travel and if I am accepted I can negotiate a payrise, perhaps somewhere between 5%-10%, which would be nice.
I'm holding out hope on getting an annual bonus in March, which I intend to use soley to make a big dent in the credit card instead of buying luxuries. Our summer holiday is a cottage in Northumberland for 2 weeks so very cheap and we're going to say that counts as our anniversary treat too.
I'll check in when I can but love to you all and keep on keeping on :beer:My Debt Free Diary LBM March 2010

I wouldn't know where to start re: freelance stuff.
No good in pubs as I'm deaf :rotfl:I also part time study with the OU so it's a nightmare juggling time.0 -
Good luck for the job bonglecat!
Welcome back starnac - these things happen, but it's admirable that you've come back!
I'm running solo on a new project at work, an got given the deadlines today. I have 5 weeks to do what would take an experienced person 12 weeks, and that's on top of all my other projects! I'll be working lots of extra hours soon, and I might broach the subject of whether I can book some of it as overtime... My boss saw the shear weight of this project this morning, and the fact my team thinks I'm ready to run solo. we have a quarterly review on Monday, so I will take a chance to mention that pay rise I should have had by now....0 -

This thread moves fast just checking in. I've made zilch extra this month and it's already the 7th although just bagged a mystery shop job in Toni and Guy not wages but a hundred pounds worth of cut and colour. Still don't feel I can pay the £100 of my card as I wouldn't have paid that for a haircut. My Man has got a 2nd job cleaning an extra £50 a month but as food has gone up so much I'm not sure we'll be banking much of that. Running out of things to sell, thinking about buying to sell but a bit scared.Debt Free by 2016

Morning all,
Made payments to my emergency account, which unfortunately think I will need to use soon as my dryer is dying and my son is going on a school trip which will cost £400. At least the money will be put aside though, before I would have just put it on a CC. It will probably mean that the debt part of my total wont be paid off before I am 30 in 3 weeks time, but needs must
My new total is £356.30/£1566SPC #1813
