    Hi

I came on here to confess. I bought a handbag and purse yesterday.

I didn't increase my debt, but it was (a lot of) money which I could have paid off of my credit card. Both were in the sale, but they still cost much more than I should have spent.

I feel disappointed in myself really :(

I will be relisting the ebay items which didn't sell lst weekend when free listing comes around again, but not sure I will make the amount I spent yesterday

Try not to beat yourself up - I did the same today, instead I bought new underwear - needed but not essential - the money could have been used in better ways, so I might return half the stuff - not sure yet - I'm feeling guilty too

    It's horrible isn't it Verityemilia?

I emptied the contents of the bag I had with me into the new one as soon as I left the shop :o so I can't take it back, I just shouldn't have bought it.

I suppose it is done now. I won't be buying aything else this month :D

:rotfl: sorry I'm laughing but I truly love the fact that you used the bag straight away !! The damage is done now - so whatever you make on eB** now needs to make up for the loss due to buying the bag - we all have blips and this is why we are on these threads, so that like minded people can pick you back up and say " it's ok, we have all done it"

So my advice is ... Enjoy your new bag and carry on where you left off saving, potting, paying debts xx

Hi all everyone seems to be doing really well with their debt busting. What a fantastic January total too. we all deserve a pat on the back. well ive cleared out my account and hubbies now that dd have all come out and between us we have £710.00 left for debts. This has been from being quite frugral with the grocery this month also no council tax to pay so thats helped. cut back on car use too and personal spends. amazing what you can do when you put your mind to something. so i am reporting a new total
    #86 £974.82/£4500
    Mortgage free 25/9/2019 8years and 7 months early 😁😁😁
  • I have had one small direct debit payment go out today so my new total is 793.26/3730
  • Jesus, we spent more than I realised this last fortnight, DH got paid today and I just had to take $500 straight out of his salary to reimburse the CC. So we'll have to live tight this fortnight.

Since that does put me a little tiny bit further ahead, though:

    #119 $5208.28/$8000.
MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028
    14 August 2017 - Refinanced: $220,000
    January 2019 $211,580 Current MFD 31 June 2036

Don't worry too much, you've done it now and you must enjoy the bag otherwise it'll be a waste of money :D The good thing is that you felt bad about it after, you know you won't do it again and you came on here to tell us. For lots of us this is about switching the endorphins released when buying something to feeling a high when we DON'T buy something :)

Can you add me too please? I kind of lost the plot a bit on this challenge last year and have only really come back to the site yesterday. I really need to get things sorted and am so angry with myself for adding to our debt even though it was for a car that we needed. But still. It added to the debt.

Current debt figure *please look away*

    £14,174

I'm so embarrassed I may run off and hide
    Goals for February
    Declutter 2/50
    Money Made £0/£200
    Overpayments £0/£200

Welcome back Starnac :) Don't be embarassed. We've all done it. I have doubled my debt in the last 5 months, ok so it's still not much in the scheme of things but I could have had it all paid off had I not started spending too much and now I just don't have the extra to make extra payments. Spagbol will give you a number soon x
