Remember a while ago I was angry that OH had received a bill from £600 from HMRC because they said he had been paid £4k in JSA? Got a letter today from the JobCentre which confirmed he has in fact only received £121 in JSA. I think he will be due some money back!
  • :T I sold something on fleabay a few weeks ago, and the girl never showed up to collect (or pay) for it, so I just listed it again. Amazingly, it sold for almost twice what she would have paid, which is £1 more than I paid for it (second hand) last year.

All in, I've made £35 from fleabay sales this week, and will have a nice new debt update in a few days (when my buyer comes to collect).

Got my fingers crossed for the rest of my items!
  • Paid £685 to my DMP today, so here is my updated total:-
    #020 £2737.14/£16,500
Won't be paying much extra for a while, but saving like crazy for a full and final payment on my Nationwide loan. Also waiting to hear if i'll get anything back from misold PPI's.
Paid off £16,715/£16,550 by Christmas 2013
Now to pay off all remaining debts by Christmas 2014
    Total to pay #041 £7,086.97/£16,500
    Only £9,413.03 to go

No payments to report after our shopping spree at the weekend. The new duvet cover and mattress protector have given us lovely sleeps since we bought them. I am hoping the £40 lift money and coming under budget on the food and diesel bills will cover the cost of these 2. The other spends will be covered by the savings we were offsetting against the secured loan. The quicker I get that money outaway so we can't touch it the better.

I get paid in 17 days and I am going to adjust my debt total upwards as my utilities have been underpaid and I have this years college fees to pay and a large dentist bill to cover which i didn't think to add in at the beginning of the challenge. I am putting the work off as it will be over £300! I do feel like we have gone seriously backwards this month:(

Things are a bit up in the air still as we don't know how much we will be getting next month as DH won't be paid until the 28th so not sure if I will be able to reach the £1000 target I set myself earlier in the month. I will really scrutinise the budget and base it on what DH wages were before his promotion and try and think of everything we need to pay out next month to see what we can pay off rather than save, that way it is paid and can't be spent again. I think I set myself too ambitious goals and get fed up when I don't achieve them.

I am going to concentrate on squeezing my budgets this month and avoiding any unnecessary spending and shopping trips with DH.
