Hi all, i've just done some online banking and have cleared one of my debts. :jThat's right folks the barclaycard is gone!!:j
Paid the remaining balance which was £340.10. Pretty good start to this challenge as I also paid the bank of Dad off earlier this month. My new total is as follows:
#020 £1752.14/£16,500
My plan is to continue paying my DMP each month and save like crazy ready to tackle my Nationwide loan. Hoping to settle that one early. If I can keep up the momentum then I might just be debt free by next Christmas.Paid off £16,715/£16,550 by Christmas 2013Now to pay off all remaining debts by Christmas 2014Total to pay #041 £7,086.97/£16,500Only £9,413.03 to go :eek:0 -
Thanks PsychoPathBubble for the spreadsheet it's so much simpler than mine
just transferring across into it now hurrah! It does show we have a lot of "overspend" though eep!!! Why we want to spend £1k on clothes a year I have no idea
You can add other bits onto it such as clothes etc, whatever you want. I've done the same for OH too

My goodness. Has the world stopped spinning or something? Something unheard of has happened! Got a letter today from the Hali*ax, who we bank with, and also have a CC with. The interest on the Cc racked up over the last few years and is currently at 27% (before we knew about rejecting rate rises). Got a letter today to say that they are putting our interest rate DOWN to 20%.
i had to read it three times before i believed it.
Maybe they've realised we're not as bad as they thought, seeing as we're paying everything off.......slowly but surely.Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -
Wow, isn't JAN a long month!! Well, i can't wait for payday (like everyone else) I will transfer at least £500 to my debts staright away before I have any temptation to waste it!
I also am very proud that I didn't use my CC this month. As of the 12 Jan I have only spent around £40! I had around £75 left from Decs pay, after bills, car tax, MOT and Service in the same month! Can't believe I did it! I get paid on thur and have no need to spend anything!
Cant wait to post my total debt paid, will wait until after I have done it on payday though :-)Halifax CC [STRIKE]£1322.88[/STRIKE] £0 :j 11.9% Virgin CC [STRIKE]£1534.76[/STRIKE] £1384.76 0% until AUG 13. Grant over payment [STRIKE]£166.66[/STRIKE] £0 :j DFD 31 JUL 13 #102

I am going to make February my 'emergency fund month' and try and pay as much as I possibly can into my rainy day account. If I can get £400 paid off in Feb I will be happy.
This is such a good idea, I will have to start to think about reserving a "Emergency Fund" month!
I personally can't wait for pay day, just so that I can pay off some debt. Unfortunately as I don't have an emergency fund, the tap will have to go on the Cr. card
(no more than £40) and the hour rate will have to come out of the already stretched grocery budget.
Nevermind! at least i'll have a sexy new tap!:rotfl:Return and Restart August 2016

Well, the BT for the new card seems to be going through so have added (taken away really
) the 3% fee to my total and also made a payment to Next (however bought some stuff on here, so with interest this is a negative too
).
So that takes me to #27 £594.74/£6000 (9.91%)£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

Hi. Would it be ok for me to join? Reading the posts of you all getting your debts paid has been a great motivator.

The amount I would like to pay off is £8,469.53
Are there any specific times/days to declare how much gets paid off? I get paid the last day of the month, So stuff gets paid then or the first couple of days into the next month.
Many thanks.0 -
Well the total may have gone up a bit due to a few unexpected bills, however at the end of this month I am particularly proud to announce....

Well guys really pleased with this and don't think I would have stuck to it if it wasn't for this thread so thanks everyone. Its just spurred meon for the next month. I have even managed to get some things done on the house which is a miracle. Im getting one of the bedrooms done this week so only one to go. Hoping that I can continue with the progress I have made but things may slow down a little due to the dreaded operation!! I am determined to try and find something to make that sells well, and doesn't involve me moving around too much!!! Keep up the fantastic work everyone woo hoo!!!!!!
