Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2013

This has been such a long week. I really can not wait until pay day. Only thing is I don't know how much I can put to wards debt yet as we have just changed our mortgage (from 6.9% to 2.89%) I know the first payment will be more than the normal amount plus I think it will work out I will paying it twice before we get paid again!
I just know in the long run we will be better off but just got to grit my teeth and get through another month!
Well done to everyone so far with all the payments. The amounts look great :T
Well done on a fab mortgage deal :j Ours went down by £200 pcm when we dropped 2% APR but then our mortgage is vast  Hope it's a real saving for you!Yippie!!! Can't wait! Seems like this month has gone on forever! I still haven't caught up yet, hopefully will be able to do it tomorrow.
Three things sold on ebay last night, just need to package them up and will probably send them tomorrow and the proceeds can go to the debts. Still haven't managed to put anymore on there.
Well, hubby and I had a chat last night about this PPI money, and a lot of other things. He said I should pay it off my Next account as even though it's not the highest APR debt we have, the repayment amount is around 10% of the balance, so paying off £655 should free up around £70 to put towards other debts. I totally agree with him on this, especially if I pay my usual payment as well of £90 it will only leave me with £190 to pay :j. However, I'm a bit miffed that he squandered his bingo winnings and now he's telling me what to do  (even though I think he's right). It would have been nice to treat myself to something as I'm the one who always seems to missed out!
Anyway, we also talked again about what I should do work wise, as I mentioned it might be difficult going back to work when we said I would as I'm still breastfeeding and working weird shifts which would just confuse DD2. We worked it all out, and agreed that it's best for me not to go back to work and be a stay at home mum for the time being. However, this does mean obviously that we will have less money coming in that can go towards our debt payments, so our debt free date has been pushed back to Sept 2015, but on the plus side we will have more time together as a family. So I actually don't feel too bad about it the DFD or the money he squandered.
I don't blame youSomething will come up that suits, I am sure

The second one is someone who had threads on MSE starting with when she was left with 73p and a few nappies standing in the bank with two young children and the bank had frozen her account. A single mum her story is inspiring and even though she is now debt free she still shares all her thrifty tips and recipes on her blog. It inspired me to be more creative with my cooking from scratch and save a shedload of money in the process. They have both really helped me - keeping me sane!!
Thanks mumsie! They look great. I have just done a storecupboard tea, fried an onion and garlic in frylight (doing SW!) with a courgette, pepper, wrinkly mushrooms and added a tin of kidney beans (economy, natch :money:), frozen sweetcorn, tin of toms and some chilli, herbs etc. and had over pasta. It was yum!*skulks in*
I need to amend my total owingI may have just bought us two cats to complete our household. We now have a stunning little Bengal called Leo who is hiding in the ensuite until it's night time, then he comes right up onto the bed and runs away if we move. We also might now have a gorgeous chocolate point siamese called Chloe who sleeps IN the bed!!!
Chloe was to coax Leo out, which has worked but she went on the credit card. So I'm going to have to declare myself back to:
Current debt:
£2900
I have had some expenses come back today which will go straight onto the card and the card isn't completely maxed out, so I'll give a proper update a bit later and maybe a photo.
That's it for spending now though, it's time to batten down the hatches for 2013!
Don't worry, it's still do-able and they sound gorgeous. Can we have a pic?DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Urgh. Got my tax codes in the post. HMRC think I am still working for a company that I was doing casual work at back in 2011, I haven't done a shift since Feb 2011 and I told them I quit in April 2011 so why do they still think I work there!! They've taken off £30 from my tax free allowance because of it0

I am so jealous of all of you who have pay days to look forward to tomorrow.SPC #1813

Evening all!! My wage is pending in my bank and my payments are all queued up so I'm declaring them now:
#048: £1000/£5,400 18.52% :A
Nice to have a big jump!I've budgeted spending money for the month which should cover the things I've got coming up this month, plus HOPEFULLY save a bit extra - if I can find/make £180 then I'll be at 20% of my target for the year which would be awesome

That's so lovely on the cats Kerrie!
I hit the mid-afternoon slump at work today, and got a bit side-tracked thinking about my budget, and then I couldn't get it out of my head and had to start writing it down. This is why its nice having a job where people don't get suspicious if you have a spreadsheet with 'balance', 'emergency', 'proportions' written all over it!
I made up a slightly complicated spreadsheet - I have 3 savings pots - one for a house deposit, one for emergencies and one for 'wants' (my wishlist). I transfer a monthly allowance into a separate bank account, and will split left overs at the end of the month between the 3 pots. An incentive to spend less and top up the pots as well some months.
So Spagbol, if it's ok, I'd like to sign up to save £3250 for my house deposit by Christmas 2013!0 -
Declaring another payment -
#114 another £270 £1000 / 6381.81 and i make that 15.66%
This was made from some ebay sales, husbands travelling expenses and a quidco payment. No more buying toiletries0 -
