We had a Nibbles too we got Cookie and Nibbles together they were siblings. Sadly we lost Nibbles 3 years ago - it was so sad Cookie sat by her grave for weeks.

I know sometimes it feels like that but it is still early days. You have enough on your plate with your daughter being I'll. I'm sure things will start to settle. There are some great blogs I follow about women who have struggled with debt one has brilliant recipes which have saved me a fortune on food spend (any savings being used to pay debts). I don't think I'm allowed to post links but can pm them if you like.

If you can't post the links pm them to me and I'll post them on here, they sound good :)

I think it's about time I did something with my wedding dress (we've been married for four years) whilst it didn't cost me a fortune I spent more on it that all the clothes currently in my wardrobe and then some! I'd love to be able to wear it again (not in that way, lol!), so I'm thinking about getting it altered and/or dyed into something hoping that I 'may' have an occasion to wear it to in the not too distant future.

I have thought about selling it, but I'd need to get it specially cleaned and with postage etc it doesn't seem worth it especially as it may not sell. Plus I don't think I could bring myself to do it or give it to charity.

Has anyone else done anything like this with their dress?

No but mine is the same, hanging in my wardrobe but it is in need of a big clean!!

  • Yessssssssssss! DH's old work finally paid him, and it's several hundred more than we were estimating. Oh I cannot tell you how excited I am; I have been stalking the accounts, and I wasn't even expecting this until tomorrow but couldn't resist checking the balance one more time. My heart is literally beating faster right now. Which is ridiculous. But! Look at my new total!

Now, someone talk me out of going out tomorrow and buying myself a treat as a reward. I haven't had a new piece of clothing, or a lipstick, or any toiletries except basic soap, for aaaaaaaaggggggeeeeesssssss.

I had my dress professionally cleaned and boxed up and it is sat on top of my wardrobe (and has been for 5 years) no idea what to do with it. Not going to have kids to "pass it on" to but don't know if I could sell it.

Wowsers! Fabulous payments :j:j And tbh I think you should treat yourself to a little inexpensive lipstick. You are well over 50% now and should acknowledge that :) Try and get one using vouchers or points as someone else suggested then you will feel even more :money:

Ah thanks armchair, you are right. It takes a bit of low to recognise your highs sometimes...and vice versa of course.

Anyway, enough of my wallowing, I've bounced back and have some school mum chums here for a cuppa today so I'd better get tidying :)

    Little survey for you today:

    a) are you a tidy person or not, on a tidy scale of 1 (slovenly lush) to 10 (anal duster upper) where are you?

    b) when you go to someone's house that is either much tidier or messier than you do you mind or does it make you sweat?

    c) Can you see where I'm going with this? I'm about a 6 on the scale, messy but clean although my walls are covered in dirty prints , and all my friends are super tidy :rotfl:

a0 Id say I am about a 6. I HATE mess, but sometimes I just cannot be bothered to keep on top of it all. I also get sentamental about 'stuff' so am a bit of a hoarder. My house is probably tidier than it is clean :o

    b) Other peoples houses are always tidier/ cleanwe/ prettier/ more sylish than mine (in my head). I think I have a complex...

    c) I'm the opposite to you - tidy but a bit grubby lol
