I've just been paid some money I was owed so its gone straight on my CC.
#043 £330 / £4,672
Next step is to clear out my cupboards to find things to sell on ebay.
I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms from not shopping. V pleased with myself but I didn't realise how often I just buy something random or browse online and then just can't resist adding to my basket. I think I need a hobby that doesn't include using my credit card0 -

Is there anything craft related you like doing? (although that is a spend in itself normally, you could then sell the bits you make)Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

I'm finally ready to join this challenge. I've just added up my figures and it looks like this:
£1158.99 Overdraft + £1292.09 CC + £55.06 CC no.2
So total to clear is £2506.04
I reached my lightbulb moment just a couple of weeks before Christmas. My husbands Audi A3 needed an expensive repair and we spent a week worrying about how we were going to pay for it as our trusty local garage only accepts cash/cheque and we were about £100 from our overdraft limit with no easy access savings, only long term savings that are locked away until 2014. I literally felt sick to my stomach. I'm currently pregnant with twins and just had had enough...my husband has a good salary, yet ever since i've known him, for the past 10 years i don't think he's ever stepped out of his overdraft for more than a week. Psychologically i don't think we ever think of being in the overdraft as being in debt but now i am determined to clear it so we can use that as emergency money if we ever need it again.
Enough is enough and now we are married and with two babies on the way we are determined to get ourselves sorted. I just want a simple life and am sick of worrying about money. I know it's probably a small amount compared to most people but to me it seems like a mountain and i am huge worrier.Mortgage - £105,5000 -

Me neither ....it's so easy like you say to browse and just add it to your basket... But this year I have been really good - I need to save for NYC - BF taking me in May

I was thinking about hobbies the other day, I currently don't have one, but I'd like to try my hand at sewing - I'd really like to start making my own clothes (being a fashion designer has always been my dream
) and I've got some really good ideas of what to make. The trouble is I don't have a sewing machine and don't even know how to use one
. Can anyone suggest a good make which isn't overly complicated but can do stuff like hems? Deffo need to get a book about it to read up too, maybe will get one when I get my next amazon voucher from swagbucks

Jeez! Only just the 8 pages to catch up with since Friday then :rotfl: I really need to put a shortcut to the thread on my favourites on my phone so I can keep on top of it without having to get laptop out.
No debt busting over the weekend but we did book the ferry early for our camping holiday to France in June as P&O are offering 20% off until the end of January .. so saved £20.80 on the cost of the crossings and went through Quidco for another £4 and something pence cashback toohis_missus wrote: »kerri - I was quite lucky in that my payday wasn't affected by Christmas. We got paid as usual on 21st Dec so it's been a 4-weeker for me. I rember the days when I worked in school and we'd get paid as we broke for Xmas and then not get paid til end of Jan - that was always a tough month!
Same here. I used to properly struggle around Christmas and New Year when I used to be paid on the 25th of the month. Now I'm paid on the 15th and it's soooo much better.minicooper272 wrote: »I need some advice:

I had a house rabbit years ago. You just have to watch the wires on things. That and your clothes.... I had several pairs of trousers with small nibble-holes near the bottom of the leg where I didn't realise he was chewing until it was too late :rotfl:0 -
Hi everyone,
Still 4 days to payday for me, but I've made a couple of payments with the spare money sitting in our account. I'm banking on 4NSDs til payday

I did a visit to a house in the summer, and was sitting at the table chatting to the parents when I felt this sort of crunching rasping noise under the table, then a sort of crunching/rasping sensation on my shoe.
Looked under the table and there was this tiny little baby bunny nibbling at my shoe. :rotfl:It was the families new house rabbit. It was very sweet, but it had the patent off my new pumps.:rotfl:Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -
I've just had to catch up on over 20 pages!! Needless to say it had to be a skim read but I'm impressed with everyone keeping the effort up woth payday still a little way off for many
I've been really busy for the last week or so and have a new desk at work where I can't get online as much, plus too many computer issues to mention!
I've been really spendy for a couple of weeks now. It was my 30th birthday on Tuesday last week and I bought myself a new top to wear out, went to the theatre to see Jersey Boys, and then went to the cinema to see Les Miserables last night. A most enjoyable week but very expensive:D
No payments due until after payday on Friday, when I will tally up the damage this month too (planning to do it all on the same day so I can lessen the blow by seeing the off-set amount after I make payments :rotfl:
