But then that means people in certain areas don't get certain things no matter the time they order? So, someone who orders 7 hours later, in a different area gets an order and you don't?

If that's how it works it doesn't seem very professional, or give you confidence in the reliability of placing orders.

You would surely think if they are selling items for hours after you've placed your order they must have them. Or at least, I think that's what most people expect when ordering from large retailers like Boots.

it's no different to other stores, I had an m and s order placed for days and they canx most of it but when I went to pick up rest they had the stock I had canx for sale in shop?? Same with debenhams and mr t canx all the time.

I never expect to get full orders in the sales and if boots do its the first time I have, but its not here yet and they have lost parcels of mine being delivered to store before. I have to order online and take a chance as we have a tiny boots where I live and no stock for 75% off and the next one is over 20 miles away and not easy for me to get to.

  • You might be in luck samboette, seems like there are mixed results.

It really annoys me though that people who ordered hours later could be getting their order, in tact, and those who stayed up to the early hours not. Just seems really unprofessional and unfair.

It annoys me too! Why do some of the largest companies get it so wrong with the online side of their business? You read about it time and time again on this forum.

It does seem to appear that earlier orders are placed at the bottom of the pile.......ridiculous!!!!

It is a true kick in the teeth to those who had to stay up until the early hours because they couldn't get to a store later that day and to those whose orders are for future presents. I was lucky that my day off fell on the Wednesday and was able to stay awake until the sale kicked in and the items I ordered are for our personal use and not to gifted but I'm nonetheless cheesed off that a company such as Boots can make such a mess of something which should be fairly simple!

Exactly the same as last years 50% sale when Boots said YODEL had 'lost' many orders (mine included), Methinks it was more like they bit off more than they could chew and didn't have enough stock to meet demand.
  • Cranny 44, It wouldn't matter the store, that's not what I would expect and think many people would be the same.

Delivery issues can happen anywhere anytime, of course, and items get cancelled. But when the same items are being despatched to people who ordered hours later, that's not what I think most people would expect, as a standard.

To each their own, of course. We all have different ideas about what we expect from companies I guess.

Oh well, went to 4 stores and no Mark Hill hairdryer sets :( .

And was caught up in the nightmare that was Meadowhall. The sales assistants couldn't believe it. If they were so desperate to get a few bargains they were welcome to them, I couldn't be bothered and wouldn't lower myself to that behaviour, knocking people out of the way, clambering over pushchairs, it was dreadful. Bought 2 noodles cooking sets, and kept my dignity lol.

I agree. It's definitely not what I would expect from Boots or any other major retailer in the UK.

I live in Cornwall so i shouldn't expect to receive anything as I'm sure there are not any Boots warehouses near here. I'm pretty sure most if not all of my orders come from Nottingham and at times Dunstable.

I wondered if payment method made a difference as to how quickly they are processed or who processes them, but I paid with PayPal for one and points the other order both orders just over £20

  • Could be, I paid with PayPal and I know I have read people having issues with that before, although it never crossed my mind at the time.

Good or you!! :T. I never understand the mindset of these folk, we all like a bargain and saving a few quid here and there but to physically knock people out the way and take items from children or others people's baskets is shocking to say the least. There is often more than enough to go around.

I've not known or heard if this behaviour is experienced In the stores where I live but the thought of people being like this puts me off, hence why I always order online.

I paid with points for the order waiting to be dispatched and PayPal for the smaller order being delivered to store for collection on Monday.
  • Hi,
Just wondered if anyone bought any Sanctuary Gift Sets in the sale and opened them. In particular the Weekend Wash Bag (was £18 now £4.50 ). I want to save 2 for presents but don't know if they have dated vouchers in them. Thanks in advance.

CHAMPNEYS - I found vouchers dated March 2013 in a couple of Champneys gift sets but was able to remove them quite easily. Hope this helps.
