  • My 2nd Boots 75% sale, last year I was the lucky one that stumbled upon on it on a work day only due to having a dentist appointment! I had a great haul last year which i'm still reaping the benefits from as I saved a lot of the stuff for my new house which i'm now decorating.

This year I had to take some time off work specially and took my partner to help! I was fully expecting it to be not that great though as the products in general this year were not amazing and then mostly sold out by now.

I got there just a few minutes after opening and people already had their bags full! There was a SA handing out big bags really patiently & happily. I just started to put things in without thinking too much, saw a Ted Baker vanity case, the only one left, label was gone, was open, but I grabbed it & checked later & it was all fine.

I can't even remember everything I got right now but I got a lot of things to mainly give as gifts or for my new house. We got some mens gifts, 3 Twinings tea caddies, risotto set, pasta set, mini herb display set, jam conserve set, house lantern, padded note board thing, 2 shabby chic mirrors (these are nowhere near as nice as their previous home designs), biscuit tin with cookies (label had come off, but it was fine) & a cute watering can.

There were loads of Marmite sets left untouched - I guess everyone hates it in my area! I was really disappointed that the Great British Bake Off 2013 Diary with recipes wasn't there. I saw it there recently at half price but thought i'd wait till 75%.

Then I went to a really tiny store near my work, not expecting much but they had quite a good selection for a tiny store - things like Starbucks jars that were nowhere to be seen in the big store I went to. So I got a few of them and some Santuary sets that were actually decent. In the queue just in front of my a lady had the last of the really nice Starbucks mug sets with candy canes which I love - gutted!

    THEN....

I went online not expecting anything but everything out of stock & the site not working - which is exactly what happened but there were a few good things which went in my basket, & then noticed the Great British Bake Off diary in stock & by the time I got the site to work for me EVERYTHING was out of stock except the diary, so I got what I wanted & ordered it fine about 15 minutes ago!

So i'm pretty chuffed with my Boots 75% morning!

Just back from bluewater. Lots of trolleys but seemed quite civilised. Lots of ikea bag people!. Blooming traffic was nightmare and didn't get there til 9.05. All no.7, soap n glory and toys gone already. Didn't need much this year as already bought bits elsewhere. Not as many aisles full as last year. Also had extra cages of stuff last year but none today. Still managed to spend £40.

I was at Bluewater and thought it was civilised a lady even gave me a large shopping bag from her trolley for my purchases.

Went to the Dundee Overgate branch at 9am - not many people in, very civilised, no-one hogging aisles though most were buying quite a bit. Boots even provided Ikea size mesh bags, never seen them before :D

When I left there were LOADS of the big Ted Baker sets, Fearne sets, Sanctuary, Champneys etc.

I didn't see any Soap& Glory and only the Gok bath pearls and soaps. Didn't see any food gift sets either.:(

I did manage to still spend £100. Mostly on all the smaller make-up sets, a lot of men's toiletry sets and some cards and wrapping paper.

If anyone in Hull has come across a store with S&G sets can you let me know. I'm very tempted to go back out but with the two main stores not having them I can't see anywhere else having them either.
  • I can confirm if you want slippers, Speke Boots is the place to go. Otherwise, the shelves are pretty much bare. A couple of Marmite mugs and boxes of crackers.

Glad I got mine online now ;-)

Just been to a couple of stores in Aberdeen, not much left already and still folk throwing stuff in trolleys and blocking shelves.
    Not great.
I have gone the past two years for opening and it was always pretty civilised but having work today I went at lunchtime.
Wasn't worth my effort to be honest and I was lucky and ordered a few bits off the web this morning.
Sad that some folk go a bit mental over it......
