    Happy December :)

Haven't put my tree up yet as we have no littlies and my OH isn't at all bothered so it's all down to me and when I want to do it. Thinking it might happen during this week or next weekend.

Did sit wrapping last night watching saturday evening tv so my sister is finished, my mum's basket is assembled and just needs its lid, 2 of my friends kids are fully done and everything else is work in progress. Have to wrap my OH presents in stages after he goes to work at night as I never know when he's going to get up and walk downstairs so it's safer to get everything out when I know he's definitely not around! That will just be an ongoing job for the next couple of weeks.

Right back to the job application, have to get it done today lol

  • Hi guys

I haven't been posting much but still read daily. Christmas present shopping nearly finished now so quite happy about that, just need to do a final Amazon order which has been waiting on me redeeming as many vouchers as I can from survey sites and what not. We went to a "Frost Fair" at our local National Trust property yesterday which was nice and festive with some lovely unique gifts and decorations. Afterwards I collected all of my Christmas decorations from my parents house (they didn't come with us in the move earlier this year) and it only took 2 trips :D. Very excited to put them up this year, as well as having the big sort out to get rid of anything I no longer use. I'll aim to add a couple of photos once done.

OMO I'd like to join in with this week's tasks please - now that it's December there seems quite a bit to do!

    I'd like to:
    Put up Xmas decs
Buy small gift bags from Card factory
Buy birthday banners (OH birthday on Tues, first in our own home :))
    Do birthday wrapping
    Do final Amazon order
    Find Christmas card list!

Hugs and festive cheer to all who needs it.

Evening, had a lovely day today. My sister works in Cineworld, so she got and advance screening of Frozen today for me and the eldest 2 kids. It was fantastic. We all enjoyed it.
I'm chuffed as I finally got some of the Xmas pudding bin bags from Poundland today. They have never had them in my local ones, but the one in Glasgow was huge.

I searched again and found the box with my good decorations and the star. It had all the ones the kids have made over the year, so it's lovely to see my tree full.

I still can't find our elves, we had 3 coming for the last 4 years. But my Oh got a cute one from The card factory for 99p :T so this will be Jolly Sugarsocks, Frosty's brother come for a visit. Ill keep looking for the rest.

We are off out soon for a walk to see some of the houses and their decorations. Looks like a lot have out theirs up. X

I too would like to see some photos of trees, I'm needing some festive cheer!

I cooked up the frozen batch of mince pies and am very disappointed :( The pastry is too short, I knew I should have stuck to my tried and tested recipe!

OMO my plans for this week is to have a christmas task schedule completed and start some decent xmas baking :) I also need to buy some more cards to finish, and post those that need posting.

I am sitting here watching a Christmas movie in the hope I get some get up and go.
I'm actually quite glad I have to go back to London in 2 weeks. It might give me some Christmas spirit back.

freespirit i loved you christmas table.
ive put my tree up and ive been so upset. i have to have to get a grip i still have one child at home. he didnt want to do the tree he wanted to play the x box. i put my decoration up with my dd name on it. im broken into bits and shes put on facebook that shes at the cinema and having a whale of a time. i need to sort myself out.
been out this afternoon to the christmas switch on and saw some dancing but it was very cold and my little boy wasnt overly interested so i came home and made hot choc for us all and had biscuits from the tin.
my tree is up but still have the rest of the decorations up and will do them next week. i really want one of those old fashioned illuminated christmas villages. i just have no where to put it at all. its not just cos of the money but you really need a fireplace or a coffee table.
back to school tomorrow and i really must get on and tidy the house and get sorted and also i need to not spend any money. i spent an amazing 200 pounds on food last week. for three of us its propostrus sp? but i normally spend about 50 per week and just loads of stuff had run out and i needed stocks of everything.also prob about 30 pounds of christmas presents there. i think i have two weeks of food so will only buy milk. i love this thread as i think it will help me get my christmas spirit back. I WANT TO SEE CHRISTMAS TREES!!!!
  • Feeling smug as all presents wrapped and cards started. Tree and decs going up next weekend. Thought I would do the candy cane sleighs 22nd or 23rd as I want to keep them a surprise for Christmas Day. I'm thinking guests can take one home each and the younger DGkIds can take the chocolate reindeers.I have all food (except fresh!) and drink, and will be picking up the turkey the Sunday before Christmas.
I feel I can now enjoy the run up without all the work.
My secret fantasy is having 2 men....
    1 cooking and 1 cleaning.
