I can only ever manage to eat two courses, so would go with soup and turkey for a traditional meal. That is what I will be doing for my work's do.
However, my DS and I are not actually fans of turkey and cannot stand Christmas cake or mince pies. So as it is just the two of us for Christmas day this year, we will be having a t-bone steak and cheese and biscuits for afters. Not very Christmassy, but that is what we prefer, and since it is Christmas, we're going to treat ourselves and eat what we would really like to have.
and that is the secret to a brilliantly special christmas, do what is right for you and yours to make it a christmas you enjoy and remember.
there isnt a right or wrong way there is the way that makes it yoursSPC~12 ot 124

Evening
Feet still ache. But that might be because I just walked Mia for an hour and a half.
My weekend was fabulous. My friend had never been to Southbank, so it was all new to her. The market was lovely. We went twice to see it in daylight and at night.
We walked out of the tube station and I said ' So there's Big Ben !!' And my friend said ' Where ?' . At this point I took a picture to show you what I saw when I looked up. :rotfl:
After we had stopped laughing we went to the Market. It was very festive. I bought Robbie a personalise decoration that says ' To Robbie, Merry 1st Christmas 2013 From Mima.'
I also got a pashmina cape there. Had some lunch and hit Oxford St.
Got most of what I wanted but Footlocker was pants. So will have to get DSs t-shirts at the one in Lakeside.
My friend then broke her shoe, which meant walking the whole way back down Oxford St to Primark to get her a cheap pair of fake uggs. Got myself a pair as well as my feet were beginning to ache a little.
We laughed the whole way down the road as she was trying to walk normally but with only one heel. :rotfl:
We saw this in the window of Selfridges. I think it is a Stag to far :rotfl: (yes it is made of Dyson Hoover parts)
The hotel was fine except some idiot had a fag in their room and all the fire alarms went off, which apparently did something to their system and it carried on bleeping until about 1 in the morning.
On getting to hotel my friend realised she hadn't taken the price tags off her new boots and had been walking around all evening with 2 £5 labels hanging off her ankles. :rotfl:
Sunday was straight to the Show which was just brilliant.
Lots of tasters ( mainly wine). We bought so much my friend had to buy a trolley. My trolly was already full in the boot of the car from Saturday.
I bought quite a few stagsBut when I saw this one I had to get it. It was £20, but I think it looks a lot more expensive.
Then at 5.30 we hit the tube again and went back to Westminster to the Southbank market, just to have a look at it lit up.
While we were there I went back to the Pashmina stall and the man said I could have one for £10 instead of £15 as I bought one the day before and he was now doing 2 for £25. It was very nice of him as he didn't have to do that.
My friend then looked over the edge of the bridge and a toggle fell off her coat. Although not funny I nearly wet myself laughing at her.
She just stood there with such a blank look on her face :rotfl:
We then said goodbye to London and came home.
Hope you like my pics0 -

:rotfl: it's staying as it is. So is the acrylic one one from John Lewis.
I felt very posh as I bought a tea light holder in House of Fraser and the till had run out of small bags, so I got a large glossy one. It looked like I had had a good spend up in there, instead of the £9.40 I actually spent. Dd wants me to use it as the stocking bag. :rotfl:
Although not really MSE I bought a box of 3 stag candle pins for £11.25 in John Lewis. A lot of money but as the candles with the pins already in were £15 each In House of Fraser I told myself I had saved a fortune.0 -

Seeing as it has been so difficult getting shop cover for tomorrow morning (never mind the rest of the week) it has made me realise again that maybe giving up the shop dream is for the best - Dhs hospital trips are only going to get more frequent the older we get as he has congenital heart problems.
Hugs to both of you Feisty. Hope DH doesn't have too long a stay.Back to the motorbike gifts. A miniature spray can of screen de mist is always useful for crash helmets.

However, I had a mad moment and thought I can make that as got loose tea and cocoa powder, sure to find an easy recipe online....yeah, I'm struggling. Can you clever ladies help me pls? I even have some tea bags waiting to be filled 😉thanks
We tried some of the chocolate tea from Tesco last year. I thought 'if it's got chocolate in it's got to be good'. How wrong could I have been. Tried it a couple of times and just couldn't convince myself that it tasted nice. It just didn't work in my opinion but there again we all have different tastes.SPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -

Good for you!
My Grandmas brother and his wife decided last Christmas they were having steak they are 90 something and 80 something both hate turkey and suddenly decided that sod Christmas they are having what they want and like, did amuse me
We're a simple bunch we just have a turkey main (though we do have 4 or 5 different types of stuffing!), and pudding, 2 choices for pudding either traditional Christmas pudding (special nut free one for me and mum), or sticky toffee pudding.
Christmas is the only time I eat sprouts each year I have 1 sprout and they are always as horrible as I remember them to be..... lol.
